Re: Portis
Portis is a diva, and he hasn't broken a game breaking run since I can't remember. Regardless, w/out CP we aren't even 4-10 right now. He is a viscious blocker, a good (if not spectacular) runner who almost always seems to get positive yards (he is averaging 4.6 yd/att), a better receiver than given credit for, and is admired by all for his toughness. He is, by far, the best player on the team and is only 27 years old.
Irrespective of the salary cap issues, if the Skins were to cut him, they might as well blow the team up entirely because that is what they would effectively be doing. Portis gives us the chance (next year) to be a real contender. If someone were to offer us a boat load of draft choices and players (see: Hershel Walker), maybe. Even then, we would look like KC does now for a couple of years. Bottom line - Portis is an asset and a valuable one.

Re: Portis
He can't use his speed because he is always stumbling forward losing his balance.
I don't hate Portis, just think he is a little over glorified |

Re: Portis
It's not Portis its the line. look at the production in the first half of season that translated to wins. Now the line is broken down and they can't run or pass block. It's that simple people Portis and Campbell are suffering because of and old ass busted ass line that just might be the worst in the league in its current state. P.S. Unless we get all new lines on both sides of the ball we will be even worse next year!

On second thought, DO take that personally. Portis led the league in rushing up until a couple of weeks ago, is averaging 4.6 YPC and 95 yds/game. Anyone complaining about his production is a ****ing idiot.

Re: Portis
If I am paying an RB $20 mil he better be able to break some long runs, make guys miss, and stay on his feet in the open field. Like over the moutain said, "He only gets the yards his o-line creates for him. He rarely makes plays.

Re: Portis
Portis is not a flashy type back but when healthy he makes up for that in consistant yardage. The team tends to play to his tempo good or bad. The Giants are showing the same without Jacobs.

Re: Portis
Portis is our best offensive player. This Thread starter and all you people who agree are fickle.
MAYBE IF WE HAD A PASSING GAME TEAMS WOULDNT MAKE CP CONSTANTLY THE DEFENSES #1 FOCUS. THERES NO RUNNING LANES IF THERES NO PASS ATTACK. People were holding up PORTIS FOR MVP signs at the Pittsburgh game and now this. Your all shot out, were gonna end up with a Cedric Benson....or F*kin Betts (WHOS NOT BETTER THAN CLINTON!!) Carrying the ball if it was up to BLIND PEOPLE like you. AND HES NOT A "SEMI-CANCER" or a "CANCER"....hes made ONE negative comment in the years hes been in Washington...and its comming off our WORST SKID in years after a hot start. And i dont disagree with him ZORNS PLAYCALLING SUCKS!!! We need to keep Portis and lose some of you fans. Portis is so good that this thread has been started..."WHY DOES JC GET BLAMED?" WHA WHA WHA...SINCE WHEN DOES THE RB GET THROWN UNDER THE BUS??! HES THE RUNNING BACK!!! RUUUUNNNING BACK! The Quarterback is the position of blame! Most teams Offensive leaders are the QB. Even LT has Rivers, had Brees...we have booty Campbell overshooting Moss everytime hes finally open deep. and i dont wanna hear ADRIAN PETERSON....whos gonna cry about not having him!!? Hes the only one you can say in the whole F*kin league at RB youd rather have...and were not gettin em so SHUT UP before our RB leaves and then well really suck and ill be blasting everyone.
