How much do you think they know. I mean they root for the lions. They could be rooting for the bestest, most super awesomeness team in all the land.

Re: Skins on Thanksgiving...Maybe another year

The networks that televise NFL games would PREFER not to have the Redskins play on Thanksgiving Day. It isn't that they would forbid it, but given their druthers, they would not have that happen.

The reason is ratings - - surprise.

The biggest national ratings teams in the NFL recently have been the Cowboys (deal with it), the Pats, the NY teams particularly the Giants, the Bears, the Packers and - - the Redskins.

The Thanksgiving Day games will draw an audience just because it is part of a Holiday Tradition for so many folks. It almost does not matter who plays the Cowboys or the Lions; lots of people will tune in. The Cowboys - - the biggest national draw - - are committed to a Thanksgiving game. Therefore, the networks would PREFER not to have ANY of the other teams on that "hot list" tied up in the Thanksgiving games.

This year the Packers will play the Lions; that eats up two of the "big ratings teams" for Thanksgiving Day. The NFL is not likely to "stick it to their network partners" by wasting a Cowboys/Redskins game on the same day. They will let FOX - - or NBC or ESPN if it is a national game - - have that match-up and draw a huge audience from it on a Sunday when a huge audience is not guaranteed no matter what the match-up.

This isn't any kind of prejudicial decision; this is good business...

FK no! I hate the redskins playing on Thanksgiving. I love to relax on Thanksgiving and enjoy what is usually my favorite day of the year. I don't want my stomach in knots all day worrying about a Cowboys game. And then if they lose I will be miserable the rest of the night. Not the way i want to enjoy a holiday with my family.

For those of you that can manage to take Redskins games in stride and enjoy them without losses ruining your day then congratulations...your a better man then me!
