[QUOTE=Mattyk72]I guess I'm a loser then, the refs gift wrapped 7 points to the Cowboys, I don't know how anyone can deny that.

Yeah it's part of the game, it just leaves you feeling a bit cheated.[QUOTE]

While I agree, I think it was 3 points, not 7. They were able to stop us from the one yard line, so we had just as much of an opportunity to stop them, but we didn't. If we would have, that could have been quite a momentum changer, even after the horrible call....

But enough with the woulda, coulda, shoulda....it was a tough loss, but I believe the Skins will bounce back against a struggling Cleveland team, and by Dec. 26th, they will look like a different team out there....we're starting to see flashes of it now....

We are definitely starting to see flashes of what is to come. I mentioned on another post that Gibbs has to believe in these players as much as he wants them to believe in him. My point being, Cooley and Thrash can make the big plays but should be allowed to play a bigger role on first down as oppose to 3rd and 17.

I'm looking at this year as a rebuilding year. That way I won't get physically sick after every loss. I'm thinking by the middle of the season the offense will really start hitting on all cylinders and Gibbs will have enough games under his belt to begin to feel comfortable behind the clip board.

NOOO!!! Not the "R" word!!! It seems that "rebuilding" is a four letter word these days in the NFL...

Seriously, I see it more as a "retooling"... All the pieces are in place, it's just a matter of time before they all start working together like they should...

no way is this a rebuilding year.

like SkinsRock said, we have all the pieces. nothing needs REbuilding, just building. i can't even say too bad about our DLine, which could definitely use another piece, but has been holding its own so far.

we have a nice young team and anywhere we have an older guy near the end of his career, we have good young bucks being groomed to take their spot. Pierce and Ramsey are the best examples. its all about tweaking now.

I think the play calling was subpar too. No one is mentioning the 3rd quarter drive where we score on a 14 play , 62 yd drive. We force the cowpukes to 3 and out and on our next series after the great drive we throw it 3 times in a row ????!!!!! Also where are the pitch outs and sweeps to Portis? We ran a couple in preseason and they worked pretty well. We established our run game on the pukes yet went away from it briefly (?) when we were only down 7?

I heard the redskins hired people to tell Gibbs when to challenge. Is this true?

yeah, gibbs is the only coach in the nfl with a former zebra on staff to help determine challenges...

anyone else thinking our #1 pick next year may be O line instead of DE?

What position do you think we'd take at Oline. The only one thats a major concern is left tackle, and Jansen will be back.

some guys with more run blocking skills... i'm not sold on having a good center yet, LT this year, and i'm not completely sold on dockery, though he has gotten a lot better from last year.

I don't know, maybe its more of a gelling issue than a talent one, I just wish they were farther along at this point.

I understand, just wondering. I do think that they are starting to get a pattern with Portis now, but no way are they close to perfect yet.
