I would keep Mason (he hits the holes with authority) over Betts and try to trade Betts or keep 4 RB's. Don't get me wrong I like Betts, but Mason is not afraid to hit the hole.

Anyone know the status on Mason's ribs? That could be a factor in him making the team or not. I still think he's a long shot. I would rather find room for Dorsey.

Masons ribs are so sore he's having trouble sleeping. He says he'll play Thursday night because he can't afford not to. Caught it on SportsNite.

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
I think this site is going to crash with the overbearing number of pissed off comments people are going to post if Mason gets cut. That said, I liked Aldridge and Dorsey's speed, definitely change of pace from our current running backs. Maybe they cut Rock and keep 4 RBs in the roster? (Portis, Betts, Mason, and either Alridge or Dorsey).

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
I don't see a snowball's chance in hell of cutting Betts.
It is possible that we keep 4 rb's and cut Rock, but that does not seem likely.

Lotus, I defer to your level head over my hot head, but at what point do we get rid of career proven back ups that are over their prime? The young kids have fresh legs that might surprise...

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
Given the shoddy play of some of the spec. teams units, I don't see Rock going anywhere. The coaches have praised his leadership & will a lot of new faces on those units, they'll need it even more.

What is everyones fascination with Rock? Ok, he's a decent KR. Wow. The problem lies with the special teams scheme. It's sucked for the last 4-5 yrs. So what your saying is if we cut Rock, special teams would fall apart cause of his leadership. Like the Skins don't have any other leaders on the team. Moss, Portis, JC, Samuels, (OL) Thomas, Fletcher, Hall, Smoot, Rogers. Just to name a few or am I incorrect? but....if this is the case then I guess we can't affored to lose Rock. God forbid the team can't break even cause we let him go. |

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
No need for Dexter Jackson, our WR's are starting to come around and with Marko Mitchell in the mix there's just no room.
