Re: Potential Epic Fail
We need to spend the next three days of practice spending 90% of the time working on this red zone list.
Slants at the goal line. Posts that end at the back of the goal line Any pass plays were JC has to throw to THE BACK OF THE GOALINE! Fades to Kelly and Mitchell Quarterback rollouts Any plays like the one we ran to Mike Sellers because it was inventive and he was open for a touchdown |

Re: Potential Epic Fail
Hell no!!! If we get another coach, hopefully its someone proven that can demand control of the team from Cerrato/Snyder. From playcalling.....all the way to forming the roster.(Ex. Holmgren, Shanahan)
Im just wondering who else could call plays if/once Zorn is shown the door. I dont see an experienced playcaller on our team, but Im not familiar with Smith's history in Tennessee either. |

Re: Potential Epic Fail
The Lions had the Vikings on the ropes until their 2nd half letdown. However, Kevin Smith is no Steven Jackson, Matthew Stafford will make his mistakes, and as long as we keep Calvin Johnson to a minimum, the Skins will have to do what they can to put points on the board.

Re: Potential Epic Fail
I wouldnt want Shanahan or Holmgren. Id rather take Cowher since he is younger and proven. The others would just be stop gap HC's IMO.
Marty is great.... Until the playoffs. He has always built a solid team but just couldnt reach that next level. I do think he got a raw deal in SD Get Mike Martz!!!! lol jk... hey, at least with him we would throw the ball downfield and be aggressive on offense.

Re: Potential Epic Fail
Detroit should be a win. We have a great chance to be 3-1 going to Carolina. It's a long season and if we can improve we'll laugh about scoring 9 pts against the Rams. Our D is going to be there all year, so we'll have a chance to win alot of games.

Re: Potential Epic Fail
I dont want Cowher, although he does bring alot of emotion to the game. I dont think he would accept the team playing like this, and wouldnt hesitate in calling out the problem.
Id rather see someone with a more offensive mindset. The NFL is now a passing league, and having someone more innovative with the playcalling would help tremendously IMO. Is there any young offensive coaches out there equivalent to Spag's and/or LeBeau's defensive playcalling? Anyways....if we lose the Detroit game, its gonna be very ugly. |

You know what is an epic fail? The reporters that asked questions at today's press conference. They asked the most bland generic freaking questions.

Nice witty comeback. I think we win, but we win ugly again. The Lions show some promise with Stafford and can score TD's. Not to sure how the hell Zorn is going to make adjustments to score in the red zone since that is what the whole point the game of football is about. It is coming down to playcalling and the lack of execution by our Wr corp, with occasional screw ups by our QB. These things shouldn't need to be worked on in the third game of the season. We need to kick Detroit's ass and put up 30+ points to get back on any type of track to be a winner again. Right now we look like last in our division again. |

Re: Potential Epic Fail
Could we please do away with the idea that the Redskins typically play down to the competition? They're just not good enough for that myth to apply.
Red Zone offense is a major problem for them right now, not just against teams like the Rams but against everybody. |

Re: Potential Epic Fail
Shanahan and Holmgren would be around about 3-5 yrs and would be looking to retire. Holmgren already stepped out of Seattle, you think he wants to coach another 7-10 yrs? Shanahan was fired, but he is getting up in the age as well.

Exactly, good teams do not play down to anybody. They beat the shit out of them like the Pats, the Boys or Niners of old. |
