Agreed. Although I think it is more pathetic than lame. Maybe lamethetic.

My avatar choice doesn't mean I'm not loyal to the B & G. It does mean I really enjoy watching the Saints play (especially now that their defense doesn't ruin the fun) AND they play the hated Giants tomorrow so yeah I'm rocking a Saints avatar.

As Randy Marsh would say: whaddya wanna do huh...whaddya wanna do

Re: attn: those rocking other team avatars

IMO you should be proud of colors not because of this season, but because of the history, past seasons, what it means to you, etc. I cant see how one can really sport any other jersey beside a Skins one. Ever. But I guess that's just me.

Let's look at it this way, if the skins were 5-0 or 4-1, would you all be rocking the Steelers or the Saints? F no, you would be rocking B and G as if it was your gang colors. Of course it is freedom of choice, so pick whatever avy you want. I will be a Skins fan till the day I die, and I will rock the B and G with pride. I don't mind calling people out, and you all are fair-weather.

That doesnt mean I dont enjoy watching other teams. I like watching the Bills, Saints and Pack. I wont root for them unless their wins/losses impact the Skins chances for the playoffs. But that is it; i dont have passion for any other team beyond the Skins. I dont see how any one can have passion for more than one NFL team. Fandom isn't real then.

Exactly, I watch other teams too.. but I still wouldn't accept a jersey even if it was free, something tells me that some here would though.

I'm sorry, but this is just how it is:

If you "enjoy" watching other teams play, or have another team you root for, or if you don the colors of another team FOR ANY REASON, then you're not a real Redskins fan.

Just no two ways about it. You're either die hard, or you're not a fan at all. Don't justify it to me because I don't want to hear it.

It's also kinda bogus to call people out on here for this. I'm not part of the mutiny, but if someone want's to show their disappointment/frustration that way, fair enough. They are still fans, they are still posting and watching and wanting the skins to be great like the 80s.

I will wonder aloud, if Danny has someone who watches these forums, and i imagine he does, and they tell him that alot of "fan unrest is being aired" could the mutiny actually get his attention.
For the most part Danny has to assume those fans on here that are posting and talking skins throughout the year represent the "core fan base", or those who would never change. If, now these fans are, even in the smallest way turning off to the b&g colors that has to prompt some attention.

Maybe not, maybe he doesn't care at all, but of course, then the mutiny will change from avatars to the team. I hope he wakes up before that happens

That's ridiculous. Dan Snyder watches one thing to monitor fans' committment to the team: the money they spend on them. An "avatar mutiny" on a fan website would actually make a difference to Dan Snyder? What planet do you live on?

Look you're either a fan or you're not. If you feel pissed off and saddened by what's going on, then it's clear you still care about the Redskins. But if you're starting to say hey you know what, I might enjoy watching the Saints play because they're fun to watch, that's headed down a bad road.

Besides, Dan Snyder wants to win football games. He sucks at it, but he wants to win. I don't think any boycotts, whether financial or avatar (pfft) will make a difference to him. We hear a lot of stuff about Zorn's status, but for all we know Snyder could be ready to drop the axe on both him and Vinny.

If this changing the avatars thing is meant as some sort of protest against Dan Snyder, then maybe I'm off-base in questioning someone's committment to the team. But I definitely don't think I'm off base in thinking they're idiots (honestly, who in their right mind thinks that's going to make a bit of difference???).

You dont think if merchandise sales go down and games start getting blacked out, Snyder might change his behavior? I think we he feels the impact in those ways, he would. Do fans actually have the composure and communication to carry out such an act? I don't think so.

That would register, for sure. Which is why I attacked the notion that an avatar mutiny would have any effect, and noted that the only thing Snyder monitors regarding the fans is the money they spend.

But ultimately no, I don't think there's any changing the man's behavior. He's going to continue to do what he thinks will put the team in the best position to win games. The problem is, he thinks that if he has a hand in football decisions, he's doing what's in the best interests of the team.

We have an owner who wants to win really badly and will do whatever he must to win. Problem is he has no idea how to identify people capable of building an NFL roster.
