Agreed. Thomas is a very young, franchise LT. Portis is a very old 28, and constantly banged up. I doubt he can be any more productive than Jerome Harrison already is for Cleveland, especially without Joe Thomas.

I wouldn't mind seeing us get Brady Quinn (especially if we have Gruden to develop him) for the right price, but I don't think Portis will be involved.

And I do agree with the article. Portis has worn out his welcome for sure. I'm so over that dude.

Players I would be willing to trade and get some value for them are:

Moss
Landry
Portis
Carter (I hate to do it but take advantage of good year)
Fred Davis (if he continues to come through like he did Monday)

Agree with all of those. Portis needs to go. Carter is north of 30, and we've got Orakpo and Jarmon. Moss is our only receiver worth a shit, but his best years are behind him. Landry is just a big disappointment (we passed on Adrian Peterson for him BTW ). Sadly, if we trade him, we won't get anything close to the value of the 6th overall pick.

This Cooley injury could be a great chance for Davis to audition. Davis was a head scratcher of a pick given that we have Cooley. Davis could be a very good TE, but Cooley is young, durable, and just entering his prime. Not too many #2 TEs put up good numbers, and not too many #2 TEs were drafted as high as the 2nd round. Considering all Campbell can seem to do is dump the ball off, Davis should get his chance over the next month.

CP will be one of the best Redskins RB of all time. He'll probably hit another 1200 yd season in the tough NFC East.

However, he's getting beat up bad and losing the edge with the poor OL we have had these last few years.

With a new Head Coach and perhaps a GM, I foresee a move to younger, fresher AND CHEAPER legs as a RB. I think Portis, Betts, Cartwright and Sellers will all be gone in a youth movement next season.

CP will eventually make the Ring of Fame for this team.

Well, we just gave Sellers an extension in the past month or so, so I really doubt we get rid of him next year. As for Portis, Betts, and Cartwright... well, from what I've seen this year, I may actually take Rock over CP and Betts if I had to chose one.

People saying Portis still has big games left in the tank, what games are you watching? He has done nothing this year to indicate that is the case. It's easy to say the line is bad - it is after all, one of the worst I've ever seen. But people seem to think this lets the QB and the skill positions completely off the hook, even though they have pretty much sucked equally. This is certainly true of Portis, who at this point is nothing more than a body. A chug forward and fall down guy with no lateral movement, no explosiveness, no ability to change direction; basically none of the skills that led him to thrive in Denver's one cut system.

Throw in the fact that he's been a whiny little bitch and you have someone who has gots to go.

Quinn is terrible. He can't drive the ball, his ball floats cause he doesn't have an NFL arm, all he does is check the ball down. Why do you think Mangini is sticking w/ Anderson? Cause Quinn gives them no big play potential. If the line gets fixed around here CP can still carry the load. But he's the biggest diva in the NFL and we'll see if the new coaching staff wants to deal w/ him.

He's def a whinny bitch but he's the best we've got. How can he run through holes that aren't there? I'd fix the line and draft a speed back to team up w/ CP.

There's been big holes that he's not been able to run through. The line's bad but they are still professionals, and on occasion this year they've opened up holes that Portis couldn't hit. He can't make cuts anymore. He's more like an old Shawn Alexander who runs 3 yards and then falls down. The question is what Portis adds to the team moving forward and the answer is clearly nothing. If he is just going to play the role of bulldozer - a meat tenderizer as Corey Dillon described himself once - then we can get that for less than 10 mill per year, and with less distraction.

Bank on it, this guy is dunzo with us after this year.

If CP still had it, he would've scored on that 78 yard run against KC.

I also, for that front seven, wouldn't be TOO much against trading Someone like a Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly and a 2011 4th rounder for Merriman, which actually sounds like a fairly feasible deal. Then we could just part ways with some underacheiving waste of roster space, and put Marko Mitchell next to Moss, and let him shine like we all know he can, and will! The Chargers might like and actually utilize a receiver like D. Thomas, and the lack of an OLine and QB on our side could be the reason D. Thomas hasn't performed worth a shit yet. Well, at least that would be our explanation, right????!!!!
Why would they trade for Portis when they have LT?

well most of the salary is coming up next year.. something like 21 mil, so we'd probably have to wait till after that, unless someone reallllly wanted him

Yeah, I just wish that I could've found a jersey other than his locally when I waited too long to order one before the Detroit game

New jersey time next year

Trade Cooley for draft picks. He has character issues i.e. Internet exhibitionism.

Portis, Horton, and I don't know our 4th rounder? for Leinart and the Cards 1st round pick. Draft Tebow to replace Portis

Yeah that's it, we'll draft Tebow but he won't replace Campbell, he'll replace Portis
