Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

I think I was bored freshman year of undergrad(yeah, I have no idea how). Looking for forums to join, and obviously I thought redskins. I didnt wanna do ES because I thought it was lame, and I went to the next site I found.

This was definitely another reason for my join. The "family" feel helps you feel right at home, rather than in the mess that is ES.

Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

No idea how I found this site, or rather I can't remember.

The comments on ES are interesting. I went there once, before finding the Warpath I'm sure, signed in and then don't think i ever went back. It wasn't discussion or anything but the format of that site is just busy and it got annoying. Sounds like things aren't going well over there?

Gotta say this site is extremely well managed. Differing opinions are allowed and personally I feel like there's a lot of really intelligent discussion. I think it also says a ton about the management/moderators etc that in a time of, err, crisis, things stay fairly "medium" around here

Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

I think I lurked for a good year before joining Warpath. Scared to post, scared to sound dumb. You know the story.

Actually I think I joined ES first, but they just seemed so full of themselves. I mean in a much different way than we are full of ourselves. There was this sense of entitlement and who's in charge. And once the Redskins got involved with them it excerbated that mentality and atmosphere. At least that's my opinion. Here, you wouldn't know who the Mods are half the time unless you really paid attention to the Avatars or went out of your way to piss someone off.

It's just a well run site with very intelligent posts, threads, etc. Think about it, NBC lurks here to get the temperature of the fan base. I would suppose ESPN does too. And let's not forget the venerable Tanner Cooley

Anyway, me and Warpath have been smashed together like a good old peanut butter and jelly sandwich for a while.

blah blah blah.... 'fess up. We know you came here just to get a date with Hess.

As for me, I heard that Smoot came here to post. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be Smootsmack. <sigh>

Decided to stay anyway for the free friday night cheetos.

Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

This might sound dumb but my ex-boytoy is a Romo-Homo fan and he would always get on his Cowgirlz site so I decided to look for a board for me to get on. He said it wouldn't be as cool but here we are. The ES one kinda scared me. Too much going on with way too many people. So far ya'll all seem normal

Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

I did a search for "A$$ hole skin fans" and this site was my first hit. I read a few post, felt at home and joined my first forum. I only post on two others which one is boating related and the other is a local fishing forum.

Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

Lurked for close to 2 years, then one day the site said I must join to read posts. Never happened before but just joined and continued to read. I don't post alot but check and read posts daily only interject when driven to. Looked at extremeskins early on but did not like the format. This site was easy to read and had decent opinions most of the time.

Re: What Brought you to The WarPath?

Well I had been getting my skins info from redskins.com or the other sport sites since maybe 2000. Ive never been in a chat room let alone a board like this ever, until now. I really dont know how I missed this for so long but I am glad I found this site. Hell I got all excited when I got promoted to special teams. Man I would watch espn for hours to hear a little something about the skins, now i am much more informed than ever. I knew all the players and front office stuff but not like some you guys here. But there is only so much Cowturd stuff I can discuss with people around me. I hope to be on here for years to come. HTTR!

Judging by your geographical location, you are no doubt Redskin deprived (which ain't all bad right now). Try this site if you do not already know. It's great during the day especially. Good stuff from the ESPN DC affiliate
