Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
Yea, there's solid talent in the late first, early second round too. I'll back whatever MS/BA do here. We do have a ton of holes on our team. It's going to take a few years of good drafts.

Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
I don't view anything we do with that pick as being a bad move. If we draft really high profile player like Clausen, Bradford, or Okung. I wouldn't be upset. I do believe that we should trade down because it's so many super players in this draft more picks will be better for the team. One thing about this organization that needs to change is choosing big names over quality depth. That's why we are in the position we're in today.

Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
I agree, which is why i'll be pissed if we "reach" for any specific position. I'm not expecting this team to be successful in 2010. we have a number of needs and we need to pick whatever players fill a need that are valueable at the position we take them. that said, we need to take an OT with a 1st or 2nd round pick and right now, i'm warming up to the idea of taking bradford with our first. If an OT is worthy of being picked with our 2nd rounder, then so be it. If not, we should try to trade down in the 2nd round.

Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
If we drafted around 5 I wouldn't mind trading down to someone who wants a specific player that was currently around 8-12 and would trade that and a 2nd. Then we trade that 8-12 for a 17-24 and another 2nd or 3rd. We'll be towards the middle to end of the 1st and have 2 extra 2nds (or 1 extra and a 3rd) as well as our own.
I just don't know that there will be two "have to get him" players after 5 or so. |

Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
Maybe I should have put it here.....
Cleveland won to day. something we needed. Tampa lost today. We needed them to win. If KC wins does that still move us up atleast one spot? or are we stuck at 5th? |

I can for-see us trading down our pick, and we'll end up picking Bradford, and draft an O-lineman in he second and 3 rounds.

According to Adam Schefter (via Twitter):
Quote:
1. St. Louis (will they take a QB or a Defensive Player?) 2. Detroit (they need to take a defensive player...Suh or (Gerald) McCoy 3. Tampa Bay (the only team that may realistically take Okung...but maybe not) 4. Washington (I think...[I hope/pray] that this pick gives us a good chance of picking up Okung)

I can see Bradford dropping like Quinn & Rodgers because of his injury

Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
I'm thinking the Rams select a QB... now whether they trade down, or take Clausen or Bradford #1 (which would be high) ... but they NEED a franchise QB... period.
The Lions can't pass on Suh... he is the next Haynesworth... IMO The Bucs are the ones tough to figure. Depends on who their coach is really. Morris MAY be gone... but they definitely could go for Okung. If Bradford and Okung are gone by the 4th pick? The best thing we could do is try and trade back to the T. Williams, B. Campbell, A. Davis range (they are all rated together after Okung).... but who'd want to trade up to 4? Not likely... so then what?

Re: Can We Draft as High as 3rd Overall?
yeah looks like we have the #4 pick. you really have to take okung there, or trade down.
