Saden, the quote you take is kind of out of context. I didn't exactly mean it in the DUI sense. I think what he did was stupid, but there's this whole innocent before proven guilty thing in the US. I'm not sure of all of the rules but I think if Gibbs wants to suspend him before he's been convicted he can file a greivance with the league. Depending on where we are in December he can get the case continued too.

I am not sure if the story is true but if it is true I wouldn't be surprised.
My preseason post tells the whole story: http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread...1556#post21556 |

AWSOME!! This is very dissapointing. I was glad to hear it was D.U.I and not D.W.I. While neither is good, DUI means he wasent totaly blasted. I think if this is anyone else in the league on any other team, we would be blasting the hell out of them. So I'll do the Skin thing and give Taylor a SLIGHT pass on this one.... but this is bad, real bad. I dont care if a million other people do this every night, its stupid. You dont drink and drive, he's lucky he didnt kill someone. I dont know all the parameters so I'll stop there, but I'm very dissapointed in this.

This guy has been trouble, right from the start. Not having an agent, then complaining about the contract he signed. Now this.
I don't have good vibes about him at all. Age is no excuse for what he purportedly did. Also, for those who suggested he should have delayed taking the test so he could pass - Are you kidding? Try telling that to all the folks who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers. Are you so interested in making sure he is eligible to play that you overlook the seriousness of what happened? If the charges are true, he should pay the price just like anyone else. Maybe then he'll think twice before climbing behind the wheel after having had too much to drink. Maybe, too, that will save a life. Can't believe Gibbs is at all pleased with what he's seen from Taylor, starting with the agent debacle. |

i could be mistaken but i believe dui (driving under the influence) and dwi (driving while intoxicated) are the same offense just some people say dui while others say dwi |

With all the wam-pum he has you think he could have sprung for a taxi or limo to give him a lift home.
I think he just beat out LaVar for dumbest redskin move of the year. |

I think we ought not judge his character. Honestly, how many good people get drunk and do stupid things at his age. I know when I was his age and younger I drank stupidly and acted even stupider. Granted I never jumped in a car and drove around but it was college so I didn't really have to. I think this is a major mistake in judegment but it doesn't say anything about whether he is a good person or not. He is god awful young. I mean for crissakes he was born in the 80's........everyone breathe, breathe. Man typing that out made me feel real old. Anyways...he is young and it was a mistake for sure and guys like Lavar will probably jump down his throat for doing something so dumb. I am sure Gibbs will sit him this weekend (as he should) but I still have confidence in the young man that he will be a model Redskin when he matures.

Perhaps GWB may want to pardon Taylor (see my other post).

I agree with FRPLG. It was a stupid mistake but this incident should not be a judgement of his character. Anyway, Joe Gibbs is expected to hold a 1:30 press conference on the matter-not sure if it will be streamed. While I doubt he'll cut Taylor like he did Kevin Ware it is possible he'll bench him. I think more than likely he'll not start him, but he'll still play.
