So now Gibbs is a bumbling idiot who has no grasp of reality?

Maybe I'm missing your analogy.

I think what he is saying is, it's obvious that the QB position is a problem. It seems as if Gibbs is saying, 'Problem? What problem? There's no problem.' At some point, credentials aside, Gibbs may start to lose some credibility by refusing to admit that the situation continues to be a hinderance to the team. He can point to all other things (receivers not being open, OL not blocking, etc) but the bottom line is the QB has to make plays. He has to be a threat to the defense. When Wilbon has gone into EVERY opposing lockerroom and they have singled Brunell out as the reason the offense isn't moving the ball, when every analyst confirms that Brunell is done, at some point Gibbs needs to acknowledge the obvious that a change needs to be made.

Well like I've said repeatedly, Gibbs isn't going to call his out his QB in the press no matther who much he struggles. Whether it's Ramsey or Brunell who is struggling, he's not going to give the press anything to chew on. Let's be honest, if he gives any bit of a hint that he's wavering on his decision as to who to start, people are gonna take that and run with it and it only makes things worse. If you believe Gibbs runs the team the same way he deals with the media then I guess he has you fooled and it's mission accomplished.

Gibbs plays things with the media and public very close to the vest. From limiting media access to camps to cutting half of training camp off from the public.

I guess some people want him to single out Brunell each week, "Yeah Mark really sucked out there today, he's courageous but he sucked".

I guarantee once Ramsey plays he'll protect him in the media the same exact way. He's not going to throw gas on the fire by calling out his QB no matter how bad he plays, we've all seen how QB controversies go and it never ends pretty.
Gibbs is totally protecting Brunell. Anyone who thinks Gibbs is watching these games and the game tapes and thinks Brunell is really doing a good job is crazy. He just doesn't think Ramsey would do any better so why make a change for no reason.
