Signing Peppers = Bad Idea

Switch to 3-4 = Bad Idea

Haynesworth at NT = Bad Idea

Orakpo at LB = Bad Idea

Why do we keep trying to put square pegs into round holes?

I agree with all of those, except Orakpo. He'd be an absolute beast as a 3-4 LB.

It's the Redskin Way? Apparently their "fans" too?

Is Orakpo at LB really a bad idea? I thought he made a pretty good transition and should only be better in year 2, and he's definitely a better fit for LB in the 3-4.

Orakpo did pretty well as a LB. Sure he was beat a few times in coverage but who doesn't get burned by guys like Witten? If we are able to broaden his skillset as a young player, it will just help the team down the road.

He may have motivational issues but he isn't close to being over the hill.

I'm still trying to figure out why Haynesworth at NT is a bad idea. It's not like he would be locked in at NT full time either, I'm sure he would work in at DE as well.

I guess the thought is that he will be unhappy with it. The guy is getting $32 million over 14 months. He should be willing to play some nose tackle...

It leaves AC to be traded for picks I suppose.

Since he hasn't come out and said anything about it yet, I'm going to assume it's not a big issue.

While thats an exaggerated example, you get the point. and that doesnt even begin to address the chemistry problems on the team when you're giving Peppers a "100 million dollar contract" and he's not even trying, while guys making the league minimum are playing their guts out.
I won't be sold on the idea of adding Peppers for reasons already expressed, but a salry cap is somethng that's going to be key in negotiations because many feel it could be gone forever. That's the one key fear, if a season is played without a cap, fear is it won't return again.

That was my feeling as well. He's certainly the best player on our roster to play NT, but I don't see him really giving it his all. the potential for having two older "100 million dollar players" in our front 7 not giving their all cant bode well for us. And to be honest, for the money we're paying him, i'd rather him do more than just eat up blockers. right or wrong, i think we'd get more production out of Hanesworth at DE.
