Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
Well as I said, last offseason and this offseason are night and day due to the uncapped year restrictions, so things will be different as far as trades and what not.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
I happened to catch this read when it was posted on RI. I couldn't help but just shakin the head and thinking this retard is still just simply clueless and must have a I.Q. of a potatoe chip.
I can only hope that another team is dumb enough to off load this headache of our hands, and we get a draft pick for this clown. He's been on my list of fools to go for some time, but last year when he called out the man that signs the checks. I thought finally he would get his wish and maybe we could get a real corner in return. I hate to think we are stuck with this for another year, I don't think clown show and new management will see things the same. Maybe they can at least work a trade to get his worthless ass outta DC. LOS don't let the door hit you in the ass. Time to take the trash to the dumpster and clean the house of all the fools that don't even understand/or aren't smart enough to play there position.

So the price becomes an issue. What is the value of one-year of Rogers in draft pick compensation. If it's, say, a 5th rounder, I don't think the Redskins would take a 5th rounder for one year of Rogers. I think they would be happier with a year of him and then letting him walk. They would obviously trade him for a second or third rounder, but it's going to be hard to find a team that wants to pay that price. This tender makes it easier though. I think he'll be here in 2009, and he's going to get a lot of FA play next year as a free agent, labor deal pending.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
Essentially, this is a comparable deal. It's the last time Shanahan dealt a starting caliber corner a year away from free agency:
Atlanta Falcons | News | Falcons trade for Foxworth, make roster moves He got a seventh-round pick in exchange. I'd be much happier with holding on to Rogers, if that's the return.

Or straight up for Cromartie.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
Losing Rogers, if someone does pony up a 2nd or maybe just a 3rd, could sting in the short run. Westbrook and Tryon aren't great in coverage nor great playmakers. Barnes is a total ? at this point. However if the FO is dead set on getting Robinson then losing Rogers means squat...and in this case who really cares what we get for him.
...is it just me or does our secondary have more drama/headcase action than other positions? Landry acts like an insane person and Rogers has the maturity of an 8 yr old every other day.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
Carlos isn't sharp, and he drops interceptions, but I just don't get the hate for a guy that can be a very good corner in this league and for this team.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
He had his mind elsewhere because of 5 different kids with 5 different women in 5 different states (I think). I say if Rogers will be unhappy trade him and take a chance on Cromartie or a 2nd or 3rd round pick instead.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
Cromartie can catch a football though, thats one huge difference and he got toasted only a few times, but that was because of what you said, his mind was somewhere else last year. Cromartie had like 10+ int's that year which he had the longest play in NFL history.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
Speaking for myself, it's the attitude he's displayed during his Redskins tenure that has constantly rubbed me the wrong way. It's been one obnoxious episode after another. However, I do think he's a very decent player who is underrated by Redskins fan. It's possible for me to separate my hate for Carlos the weird-faced kvetch and grudging respect for Carlos the player, although others have a harder time.

Re: Rogers tendered-whines about it
When Los dropped the pick 6 against Seattle in the '05 playoffs I think he somehow laid out the rest of his career path. He's underwhelming at best...when he gets burned or jams his hooves at the pigskin I want to shoot him w/ a pellet gun.
