I agree, I think our trio: Thomas, Kelly, and Davis will be the talk of the league next year. Three tunes in his career Boldin has played 12 games or less and a couple of times just short of 16. If he holds up for a couple of seasons, it was a good deal. But that's a big if.

EDIT: three times

I agree with you for us but for the ravens a team that only needs a few pieces it makes sense.

Thomas: Deadliest #1 in the league.
Kelly: Best possession receiver in the league
Davis: Second coming of Shannon Sharpe.

I see improvement, but not talk of the town type stuff, not yet anyway. With the exception of Davis( who became a stud TE), the other two improved somewhat, but nothing to get one overly excited about. Kelly was an absolute big zip until the season was effectively over for us. We won't see til 2011 if these guys are busts or not.

Re: Ravens get Boldin

Just wondering, would it be unheard of to move Thomas into the #1 spot and have moss slide over to the #2 and Kelly brings up the slot? Would that be possible, or is santanas ego too big to move on over? I just dont think santana is really a prototypical #1 receiver, and Thomas fits that mold better than him. Give him a season and see if he can work hisself into a quality starter, or just slide Santana back to #1 when it looks like it aint happening. I mean, we already know what we have with moss, and its borderline #1 material. Lets lean on these young guys, and give them their definitive "shot".

Actually, I believe Moss would be best suited for the slot, but DT should be our #1 no matter where anyone else lines up.

Hopefully ARE's departure means Marko sees the field a lot more.

Re: Ravens get Boldin

nice job by ozzie. he wanted him last year but didnt want to put up a 1st rounder or the rumored 2nd rounder after no one bit on the 1st rounder.

while a wr like boldin could have been the difference for them last year in the playoffs, better late than never.

on flacco, i wasnt to high on him too and thought the ravens fans were to quick to annoint him as the next johnny u.

flacco has great pocket awareness, makes some nice reads and for the most part is accurate, when needed he can fit the ball into a tight window. he is being groomed nicely by the ravens franchise.

that ravens franchise just keeps chuggin away, adding pieces and not overpaying to keep players. when a raven player or coach leaves, his replacement is usually in-house ready to take over with lil drop off.

They better get some Lombardis while Reed and Lewis are still there. I bet Reed will play one more year, 2 tops. Ray Lewis...who knows, he doesn't look like he'll ever slow down. But, they'll never replace that tandem.

Re: Ravens get Boldin

yup, my thought as well. the ravens have heavily drafted on the offensive side of the ball with their early picks lately while relying on ozzie's guile and relative health of ray lewis, ed reed, terrel suggs, n'agata to hold down their D.

guys like ray lewis and ed reed dont come around very often. im not sure if reed is even gonna come back, the guy plays through alot of pain now a days.

once lewis and reed are gone, i just dont see the ravens being continual contenders ('07 excluded).
