I can understand that, but at least it is a beer. You cannot even classify the larger beer makers in the US as such. Honestly, you might as well be drinking Zima.

That's because the domestic lager makers use rice malt as a grain supplement to keep the beer tasting "light" and "clean". Translation, flavorless.

You may not like Yeungling (I'm not a huge fan), but that is how a light lager made with actual malted barley, not rice is supposed to taste.

I homebrew my own, so domestic light is strictly for the "I'm at the ballpark and I want beer but it's too hot so I should really be drinking water, oh wait I can have both" moments.

You are replying to the wrong guy. I like Yeungling, Sam Adams, and just about everything brewed in Germany. The only Budweiser that I like is the Czech version.

Translation = Most other American beers are crap.

I was pretty much saying that anyone who likes the mainstream American brews might as well be drinking a Zima.

Sorry, I hit reply to wrong post and it quoted you.

BTW, I would not say most "American" beers are crap. In fact, there are more small micro breweries in the U.S. than the rest of the world combined and many, if not most, make some absolutely fantastic beer.

Mass produced American beer...now that is crap.

I like the German Pils and Bock style lagers, but if you want the best, the Belgian trappist ales are the standard by which all are judged.
