12 games! And you say 4 for 48????

Wow, I was not a fan of the Roy Williams trade, but in comparison, it sure is looking better and better.
except AH has had game-changing plays, you should remember that unless you drank the pain and memories away

Game changing? What do you mean "game changing"? The team went 4-12! Changed what exactly?

I think 4-12 had to do with a lot of things that AH had nothing to do with (like the FO who made terrible decisions like going after AH).

While I have my bias, I will try to be objective about the following statement. Both the Cowboys and the Redskins have not gotten what they expected out of their respective acquisitions. Roy Williams was a non-factor and the Cowboys still did well; Haynesworth played well but the Redskins still were bad.

Looking at it from a compensation standpoint, the trade for Roy Williams was more costly to the Cowboys than the Haynesworth acquisition. Dallas gave up a lot of picks and got nothing for them. The Redskins gave up a lot of money for Haynesworth, and he wasn't necessarily the answer to a terrible team. But, because of the lack of a salary cap, well Haynesworth ended costing money that will not count against the cap and affect the team that much. Whereas with the Cowboys, well the draft is still happening, and they are never getting those picks back.

Personally, I think Haynesworth is a bad example, I would liken the whole Roy Williams situation to the Jason Taylor acquisition.

Good post. I can accept that.

Perhaps it was my misconception of the term "game changing". A game changer is that punt run back for 6 that shifts momentum. The pick-6 late in the 4th quarter when down by 7. That sack and fumble/turnover in the oppositions red zone in a close game. Etc etc...

But the difference now is that Roy Williams has been working harder in the off season to IMPROVE his shortcomings. RW is at OTA's, he is at the volutary workouts and is putting forth every effort to at least try to live up to the trade and contract.

Whereas AH, after 12 games, has made it clear he just does not want to be there. No effort to live up to the contract.

And as for the draft picks surrendered by Dallas to get RW. technically it was just one pick, albiet a first round pick. The second draft pick was acquired from Miami in a trade for Jason Fergeson who had outlived his welcome with his age and the emergence of Jay Ratliff.

Did you catch any of Hard Knocks when Dallas was on? He was very shy when it came to contact. Not physical enough.
