Shanahan reiterates that McNabb is still the starter

Says Grossman is more comfortable with offense and capable of running 2 min offense

Sure...that sounds right....I was wondering what excuse he'd come up with to cover his butt....how about some humility coach?

Gibbs would have said....I'm sorry...I made a big mistake ....but Shanny takes his time to come up with an alibi to push blame to someone else.
That is the arrogance that I've been expecting to surface since he became coach...it became apparent with Haynesworth....and now this.

What a moron decision. McNabb is arguably the best talent out of 30+ offensive players....and the only one with the abilty to win that game...I know...lets bench him and put in a nobody in terms of talent.
Hell...I'd rather him run the wildcat with Banks at that point.

Not really words of encouragement for McNabb when Shanahan says Grossman understands the offense better, is better In the 2 minute and gave the team a better chance to win. Still think McNabb starts though

I have heard more than once that DM is having trouble picking up this new scheme. I have also heard that Shanny is surprised how slow DM is at picking it up. In some ways I'm not surprised Shanny did this but I still think DM would have been the better choice.

I am happy that Shanny isnt in love with the players the way some of the previous coaches were and isnt afraid to make bold moves like this.

It's really not hard to get at all.

1) Get the ball from Rabach
2) Wait for him to get off your foot.
3) Run for your life
4) Throw to a receiver (Not necessary if you run for 35 yds)

I would have pulled KYLE after the long pass on 2nd and (about) 10 on the second-to-last drive. Horrible playcall. You have to leave a reasonable distance on third down so they don't bring the house. A pass underneath would have been a much better call.

I was pissed that they put in Grossman before seeing the result of the play. Afterwards, .....#!?&%$*))%^

I think it was a desperation move to the bullpen just looking for a spark, and perhaps to light a fire under DM's ass, still doesn't make much sense to me though. McNabb is still clearly the best QB on the roster, gotta live and die with him.

When the Eagles benched him, he came back really strong. I agree with some others that the O-line needs some "tuning" Can't expect DM to do it all.

310 2tds, no picks. Good for Jason. I don't think he'd be doing any better or any worse than McNabb here in DC this year given the current state our line, running backs, and receivers.

Yes, but the difference is when they benched him it wasn't in a contract year. We don't know if there's going to be a franchise tag next year so there's a decent chance that we'll have traded a 2nd and 4th round pick to a division rival for a one year rental.

Maybe they benched him as leverage to contract talks so they don't have to over pay him

I've always wondered why it is a big issue to pull a QB in an NFL game but to pull a pitcher in a MLB game is common. Same issues apply. Your starter is always your best player. If neither is accurate or reading adjustments made by opponents they should be pulled. Sometimes you just don't have it.

Yeah, what is that?

If Grossman understands the offense better, is better in the two minute offense and gives the team a better chance to win...how do you say that in public and still go with McNabb?

I'm sure McNabb is still the starter, assuming he still wants to, but I just don't understand it at all.

Someone help me out.

Okay so that is just confirming what some of us thought. Grossman may not be the better QB than McNabb, but at this point, Rex knows the offense better and gives us a better chance to win. He could be the "Todd Collins" of this offense. I say give him a chance.
