Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

Maybe we can trade mcnabb and Fat Al in a package deal to the titans for a pair of back to back 3rd rounders?

Many said that about McNabb.

Good move by the Titans. They weren't going anywhere with VY.

I've been thinking of a trade like this for the past couple weeks w/a couple of teams. In the past such deals were near impossible for us to gain anything in, but w/Allen running the biz I have confidence that McNabb & AH wil bring something in return, albeit probably less than we expect.

I could see Tenn. interested in McNabb if Collins isn't there. Is he under contract next year? I think Minnesota is still a possibility too.

Seriously though, there are already rumors of Oakland being interested
Why? They have JC?

I think its because JC is just JC, meaning that he is very inconsistent. Some days he is horrible, some days he plays great. They most likely want stability at QB, especially now that they will be having a new coach.

So I guess this means Fisher is coming back.

VY could be scary good if he ever gets his head on straight. I'm not counting on that happening though.

Nobody likes bringing this up, but it seems like Fisher never took into Young from day one. For some reason, he never liked Young. And everyone keeps talking about how great a coach Fisher is. He's been there a long time and has no rings. Just saying.

Not sure what you're basing that on exactly, but Fisher did everything he could to mentor and develop VY. I think he gave him more than enough opportunities to mature and step up as a team leader. At some point VY has to take responsibility and ownership of his career.

When VY had his suicide incident, it was Fisher out pounding the pavement looking for him. Sure doesn't sound like a uncaring guy to me.

Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

Well Fisher wanted Leinart (and he'll probably get him now) over Young. But it's not like he mistreated Young while he was there. And VY has to take some personal accountability here. He's got too much talent to waste it. But who's going to want to trade for a guy who can't keep his head on straight and owe him close to $13 million. He needs a stable situation, and I don't think he'll find that here. Not now, at least

Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

To me Fisher has always been the type of coach who sets the perfect tone. He is players coach from the standpoint that he supports you professionally and personally but he expects you to do your job professionally and be accountable to the team. VY never really was. It can't be a coincidence that the only major problems Fisher has ever had publicly had with a player of his was a player he was forced to employ against his wishes. That type of environment is very unhealthy. It gives too much power to the player and is tough to handle from the coach's perspective emotionally. (Sounds familiar doesn't it)

I'm not saying VY doesn't have himself to blame for most, if not all, of his problems. But Fisher never really wanted him. I think its quite obvious.
