The owners voted unanimously in 2008 to opt out of the current CBA, which means they cannot "extend" the current CBA. They have to agree on a new CBA before March 5th. If not, there is no free agency signing period, no trades of veterans. The only thing that will happen is the draft. |

Re: Haynesworth to Philly?
Hate to break to you all, but you are chasing wild geese with these lame scenarios that reporters drum up. I suggest you look up Darryl Gardener and Mike Shanahan to see exactly what is going to happen with Haynesworth.
(in case you are interested) DT was a disappointment last year - NFL - ESPN Unless teams are willing to give compensation to Shanny/Allen's satisfaction (most likely a 2nd rounder), then they aren't going to let him go anywhere UNLESS he gives back a big portion of that bonus money or buys out of his contract. FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Under the Cap: Redskins Utilizing the Uncapped Year Quote:
1) Albert isn't giving money back 2) No team is going to give him 16.8 million in guarantees so he can pay back the Redskins. 3) No team is going to give high compensation (2nd rounder and above) for AH AND have to pay his current salary. The only exception would be a desperate team like we were with Jason Taylor. Don't plan on AH going anywhere regardless of the bullshit stories. |

Re: Haynesworth to Philly?
Big Al is screwed. Either give up some of that guaranteed money so he can be traded or live the life of a benched player if he stays with the Skins.
I wonder if Big Al and Haslett ever got together after the season as Jim Haslett said he would do? |

Re: Haynesworth to Philly?
I'm building a time machine that I hope can be used to send him back a couple of centuries - thousands of years ago. Maybe he will disapear with other great civilizations. Maybe they too will expect him to measure up to his size but fail due to his.......... (so many words can be used to label why he's worthless and a failure Il just leave it blank).

Still...I do not want to trade him in-division, but it is tempting to trade him to the Eagles as they're moving to a 3-4...could hurt them and help up at the same time. Risky though. He'll need a new # too.

Re: Haynesworth to Philly?
I listen to the local DC area sportsradio and you hear people like "just send him away from here", etc.
I find that so stupid -why send a motivated Haynesworth (to kick our ass) to the one man who knows how to use him in the division, so that we can play him twice a year. Not smart.

We still could trade McNabb and come out a 4th-ish round pick ahead.

Re: Haynesworth to Philly?
Personally, I'd like to keep him for the length of the contract- riding the pine or playing so we and the Danny have a stern reminder NEVER to sign a head case like this again and NEVER to let a knucklehead like a Vinny Cerrato be allowed to select personnel for this team again.

Re: Haynesworth to Philly?
Whenever the idea of "Haynesworth in Philly" comes to mind, I remember that Andy Reid lived through the joyous times with Terrell Owens and saw what that kind of presence in a locker room can do to a team.
Then I ask myself: "Is Andy Reid dumb enough to choose to go through all that again?" That is why I suspect Big Al will not be an Eagle next year...
