Seriously. I dont think anyone is defending that pass. Weather that was the right playcall or not, it was a horrible desicon. But mingya, he played a pretty decent game. Everyone makes mistakes like that, ever watch Brett Favre, he does that type of crap all the time.

I just think I'm seeing a chemistry developing on offense, and I dont want to mess that up. Even with a couple poor decisions on the part of Ramsey.

I don't know but I think thats more than enough time to be able to read a double team on a receiver in the endzone or be able to throw underneath to a WIDE open Portis or a WIDE open MCcants inside the 20. You draft a rookie QB to play immediately or possibly the next season, not to sit on the bench for 5 years to learn how to read a cover 2 defense. Joe Gibbs only has 4 years left, HOPEFULLY. I don't know if Ramsey is gonna be able to turn it around and take this team to the promise land in that time. If he does, and I hope he does than I'll be the first to say I was wrong.

He made a bad throw, veteran QB's make the same stupid mistakes. Brett Favre anyone? Sometimes he throws INT's that you would think only rookies would throw.

He makes one poor decision and all of a sudden he's a bum and we need to look for a new QB next year? Funny how last week he was a hero, now it's back to the goat.

I just don't understand why some people are so unwilling to commit to a young QB like Ramsey. All young QB's take their share of bumps and bruises, all QB's make mistakes. I don't think we've seen enough to make a final judgement on his abilities.

All I'm asking is to give him 2005 as the starter, and at this time next year we'll have an idea as to what the future looks like with Patrick Ramsey as the starter. At that point he'll be at the 30 start mark in his career, I think that's a fair amount of starts for a young QB to decide if he's your franchise QB or just another name.

How many starts should he be allowed before he's no longer given the benefit of being "a young quarterback learning"?

I mean, I hear what you're saying that he's still raw and it's really only his 4th start under this new offense. I'm just wondering is there's a certain number of games that you would use to determine if he's the right choice at QB....which I think he is

the rest of this season and thats it. a full offseason with him no.1, if he's still throwing dumb INTs by the the third game next season and costing us games, give hasslebeck second halves and start calling around.

I dont think its the rest of this season. I think he should get the opprotunity to start next season. I think he can make stupid mistakes this year, but if he has this offseason to learn this system, and still makes the same mistakes next season, then its time to really start questioning him.

I understand that he shouldn't be making throws like he did last night, but come on!! They say for most QB's it takes about 3 years to fully develope. Lets see, now I am no math major, but last I checked 3seasons at 16 games a season is much more than the 20 starts Ramsey has had. Also the QB's that are given the full 48 games to start are not battleing learning a new offense every other year!! So I think those of us who wants to get a new QB in the off season need to be reallistic!!

Look at Brees!! Do you really beleive that Gates, McCardell(sp), and Parker are the reasons why he has stepped it up this year? Or would you belive that him playing 3 seasons under the same offense might have something to do with it??? Just a thought!!

i'm not trying to compare ramsey to brett favre but if you think about it for a second brett throws alot of ints and yet the packers are a pretty successfull team. they take shots down the field and their defense is not nearly as good as the skins. ramsey does make some bad decisions(just like brett) but we have a great defense to get us the ball back. i wouldnt mind a few pick offs if we were taking shot down the field also because with those picks would come some defensive pass interferrence calls as well as some huge gains for the skins offense. i can understand having a real conservative offense if we had a piss pore defense but thats not the case we have a great d. that int at the end of the game is just as much gibbs' fault as it is ramsey's, true ramsey needs to do a better job of locating the dbs but gibbs needs to open up the playbook and take some shots down field. the skins would win some and lose some but they have the d to make up for the ones they lose.

exactly wolfeskins. We have a defense that can handle an offense that creates turnovers from time to time. We can take chances and rely on our defense. Same reason we can go for it on 4th and inches in their territory. I trust our defense!
