If there were stats they would support what I said.

Playoffs had absolutely nothing to do with it, Trent wasn't great or anything this year.. let's be realistic about him. I watch a lot of football (we all do), and he really impressed me for Seattle.

TW faced some very stiff competition in his rookie year, week in and week out with little help and he pretty much held his own.

And he's serious about getting better

The reality is TW had a solid rookie year. So did Okung, they're both going to be good pros. I think TW proved he's a better fit for this offense. More athletic and agile. Okung is probably the better pure pass blocker.

I can partially agree with this.

The point I was trying to make is that Russell Okung was the better collegiate football player, the fact that Trent climbed the draft rankings towards the end of the draft season is more because people started to realize this whole "Mike Shanahan wants speed and will take Trent Williams". Not because people thought he would be the better left tackle.. Also worth noting, Trent played right tackle until he became a senior. So again, a lot of question marks about this player.

Clearly it's the wrong place to be discussing this argument and rightfully so.. I'll leave it at that.

TW and Okung have a lot of football ahead of them to prove themselves. But I give the nod to TW, because he did a pretty good job against some tough rushers (Ware, Mario Williams, Peppers, Freeney, Clay Matthews, etc., etc.)

Thats one pick that would not make me upset at all. Sure maybe 10 is a little high for a RT, but we wouldnt have to worry about the tackle positions for the next 10 years. And what QB wouldnt have greater secuss with steller outside protection for years to come. Sometimes peace of mind is worth a slight reach.

Okung definitely had the more polished college career. But Shanahan wasn't alone in his assessment that TW may in the long run have more upside. But in the end I think we're splitting hairs, I think both players have the potential to have long successful careers.

TW definitely had some question marks coming in, but he answered a lot them last year.

Most people seem to think the Cowboys will take Smith at 9 (or Prince, though a lot of people think he'll gone by the time the Niners pick)

I would love to have to choose between Prince, Quinn and JJ

Kind of surprised, AJ Green and Julio Jones haven't been on our radar yet. In my opinion, they could be the best available at 10. We definitely need an upgrade at WR, and I don't think we have a true #1 WR right now.
