Why does our defense stuff them the entire game and then we get killed on one long bomb.
Isn't there such a thing as a prevent defense. What coverage were we in on that last play? |

Same stupid crap we run when they beat us with the same play, year-in-year-out. :vomit-smi |

Several guys on defense were quoted earlier this year saying that "We don't have a prevent defense". The fact that Testicleverde had enough time to throw one deep cost us the game. Most safeties will get burned in a cover two defense against a 4 WR set. I thought Gibbs coached well down the stretch. Having a top rated defense, you don't want too much pressure on a young QB.

But we gave up a 3rd for Brunell. Didn't we give up a 1st for Portis too?

Antonio Brown won't even be given a bus ticket home. Smoot may be gone. Only his personality will be missed. It seems to boil down to having a legitimate pass rushing DE. That should free up our more athletic LBs. Nice FG 'attempt' by Chandler.

What do you mean his personality will only be missed. Give me a break. He has one somewhat bad game, and you wanna run him out of town. In my opinion he is the single most importnat peice to that defensive team.

There is no way Smoot goes. He's a core Redskin.

Why is this all Sean Taylor's fault? Many posts on this thread point to him getting burned because he's a rookie.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Shawn Springs the cornerback covering on that play? |

I like Smoot. He played well this year and I agree he was our best CB last year. He's gonna play play hardball with contract negotiations though and that's the nature of the business. If there's another solid CB available for less dough he's replaceable in this system. Heck, look how Springs career was resurrected.

Springs was covering the play in the flats, Taylor was supposed to be the saftey help over the top. Its hard to say whos fault it was without knowing the actual play assignments. I think it was Taylor that had that guy.
