You are completely out of your mind, neither are even playing at Jansen's top level yet. Samuals is in a completely different category.
Do they have the potential...sure...but boy, your excitement about a re-signing has gone to your head.
This is still an average line at best....but it is good to celebrate getting at least Rabach off the line.

Didn't Shanny draft Ryan Harris specifically for his scheme? If the guy wasn't as expensive as he probably will be, I would totally support trying to get him.

Cutting Rabach = Addition by subtraction.

Cutting Rabach was good but having Will Montgomery or Liechtensteiger replace him, not so much -- I am still holding out hope that we can get a decent C in the FA market though I doubt that will happen.

not much left at OG that's of reasonable age. joseph, blalock, lutui, mathis, etc already out and it wasn't strong to start with... lots of really old OL sitting around about to be force retired though.

Re: Redskins Resign Jamaal Brown

I think our line is set guys: LT: Trent Williams, LG: Kory Lichtensteiger, C: Will Montgomery, RG: Chris Chester, RT: Jammal Brown

It's a wrap barring injury or someone like Selvish Capers or Stephon Heyer having a phenomenal training camp.

Dang we need a Center. Other than that it looks okay.

If we had drafted Rodney Hudson that line would have looked amazing, at least on paper. However Montgomery is solid. Just don't expect him to be Matt Birk.

Re: Redskins Resign Jamaal Brown

Will Montgomery has a good motor, but I'm not sure he has the talent or strength to take on a guy like Jay Ratliff. It'll be interesting to see how that works out with Montgomery at center, but if he is better served as a depth guy I'm sure we'll go out and get an upgrade next offseason. Not sure if many people agree with me that we should look at this as a non-contending season, because you know what they say, any team can go from crappy to contender in one offseason, but I do think we shouldn't get our hopes up.

Re: Redskins Resign Jamaal Brown

Yeah, best way to describe Monty might be, not as good as Rabach in his prime but better then Rabach the last two years.

Here's a video of Monty at Center. He plays the spot sometime after the 0:40 mark

Oh, no way we are contending this season ... I'd be stoked with 9-7 and possibly sneaking into the playoffs. But cleansing the team of locker room malcontents, adding solid talent and depth at a reasonable price, no absurd contracts to aging has-beens (archuleta etc.) and all the other moves that Shanny/Allen have made/are making, are giving me hope that the attitude within the Redskins and about the Redskins around the league is changing for the better -- It's about building a team for the next decade and so far, that seems to be the plan internally as well.
