Hightower acquisition might be the writing on the wall for torain (although your right he might be our best pure runner). Unfortunately injuries do cost talent their job from time to time.

And banks will def make the team. He's first on the return depth chart
fair enough, i was just being backing you up lol

and the banks thing, if he does indeed make the team it'll be interesting to see how that effects which WRs make it.

Re: Depth Chart

Interesting to see Gaffney listed as a #1 reciever.
If that pans out to the season start it makes the Jarmon trade somewhat brilliant.

Yeah, Banks is safe if healthy.

It looks like Donte Stallworth vs. Niles Paul vs. Aldrick Robinson vs. Terrence Austin for one spot. I'd be stunned if it was Stallworth (barring an injury to Gaffney or Moss), but I'd make it an even odds competition between the other three, with Austin slightly out in front right now.

The last two years, we were pretty loaded on the defensive side in camp. Probably three deep with starters at most positions.

On offense, yeah, this is the first roster crackdown we've had here in quite a while. Deepest they've been in a while.

Re: Depth Chart

Yeah, it was good to start this thread but, it got off on an uneducated foot. I expect a lot of substituting in this game, nothing out of the ordinary though. Imma keep my eye on the backup OTs though

It makes sense if he's considered a possession type WR.

Re: Depth Chart

IMO, after Hall and J. Wilson, CB is shaky; especially when Buchannon's out 4 games, so I'd like to sign Hayden or another FA CB. Torain, is a liability. He won't be cut, but he won't start. (Hightower #1, Torain #2, Helu #3). Shannahan didn't trade for Hightower just to be a "3rd down back". AA being on the 2nd team isn't surprising. He was never a #2 WR. Gaffney is an underrated WR, and can have a nice year.

Re: Depth Chart

Torain seems more injury prone than Helu or Hightower, and he's definitely a rhythm RB IMO. Maybe he gets a majority of reps early, assuming he's successful, but I doubt he's healthy for the long haul. I really hope Helu can fly and Hightower breaks out!

Exactly. Which is why Shananhan traded for Hightower. If the O-line stays healthy, Hightower, Helu, and Torain can benefit.

So we've all decided Royster will be a non-factor?

Good point, let's see how he looks in the games.

Sounds like he's been having a good camp.

Re: Depth Chart

Royster is the guy I know was on their radar leading up to the draft. I don't know if Helu was as well or if they were surprised to get him.

My guess is Helu has the advantage, based on what I've heard so far (and what I'm sure everyone else has too). But it does seem that we're dismissing Royster awfully quickly. And I suspect that has as much to do with the fact he's a Penn State RB than anything else.

In the meantime, read more hatterade from the media on the Redskins (particularly Roy Helu)
