Why would we talk about that in a D. Hall thread, or why does it have anything to do with D. Hall? lol... Do you hate D. Hall that much, that you have to hijcak his thread?

Funny stuff man.. Fred Smoot wasn't even a #1 or #2 CB, but he did manage to pop the roster in that spot because of the lackluster talent we had at this position for such a long time

It must be pointed out that Hall is 50/50 at best. He read the same route Evens burned him. When it's pretty it's pretty, and when it is ugly it's really ugly.

D Hall get burnt to much for me. I don't know where to place him. If starts covering better I'll put him in the top 5.

This really warrented it's own thread? I thought it was discussed at length in the other thread. Wasn't the conclusion from the other thread that anyone is better then D.Hall? I was pretty sure someone said something like they would have prefered to have kept Rogers and let Hall go. lol.

As a cover corner he's way down the list. As a playmaker he's right up at the top of the list. Hall is a great playmaking corner, no one can question that. The guy has great hands and could probably be a damn good wr. But his main job is to COVER, which he simply can not do very well. I'm not sure why cause he has the skills to do it but for what ever reason he doesn't. He couldn't even cover Danny Amendola. And don't get me started on his tackling skills. He's still trying to find his jock when Jake Delhomme made him look silly.

Hall hasn't surpassed Shawn Springs yet.

I think it's a little too soon to rank D. Hall among all the CB's who have played here. He still has time to play and improve. Oh....and tell that bastard I want my lunch money back!

I think DHall is tremendously overrated.
He is a gambler and is exceptional at reading plays but no one can tell me that they would want him to shadow a #1 WR all game.
When was the last time he shadowed a solid WR and took him out of the game?
He hasn't done it in a skins uniform so no freaking way he is on my list.
Springs had some battles with TO one on one and won a few of them. He was the last guy we had that could shadow a WR leave him on an island.

Well considering we don't have a lot of man coverage's in Haslett's new defense I would say Hall hasn't done a lot of Man coverage over the year. I would say that Hall excels in our new defensive scheme. I'm also excited about Wilson and I think between the two of them. We will have a lot of turnovers this year.

Unfortunately this topic will come up as long as there are people that don't like Hall as a person and b*tch about him every single possible time and those that get all geeked up about his picks and call him the best ever. As I said, here in the Warpath opinions tend to go to the extreme.

Re: Where does D. Hall rate as a CB for the Redskins all time?

I am not sure if all time Redskin great is an appropriate word RIGHT NOW. This is his 2nd, 3rd season with us. He is a good corner, but I am not sure he stands out as one of the greats. His completion % against is pretty high, Carlos had better cover numbers. What he does do is bring the ability to gamble and make plays. He doesn't have the ability like a Dieon Sanders to make up for the mistakes. If dieon gambled, he got back into the play with just his pure speed. WHen Hall makes a mistake, it leads to big plays. I think I go
Green, Bailey, Springs. Not sure where Hall would fall in Redskins greats though. I am sure there were probably some guys from earlier years that may have made a bigger contribution to the team, I just can't remember them.
