Granted, but a seven month offseason can do wonders.

I hope so for Knox's sake. That hit was pretty brutal!

I have NEVER played even one moment of Madden.

These are not rumors I have started; these are rumors out there amongst NFL folks who are involved with the league and involved with covering the league.

I must admit that no one has ever before accused me of being "Snyderish". The fact that I said I would pass on going after two "flawed but very talented" players who might be on the trade/free agent market would argue that I am not being very "Snyderish"...

Few people come to mind who can balance going about the business of winning football games and remaking the program's severely damaged image

There are many good football coaches, but few good men the caliber of Tony Dungy who understands football and the delicate situation at hand right now at Penn State. I pray the board of trustees and the new president understand this.

As far as Kyle goes, eh, I think Mike will bring him back. It's one of those, the offense showed signs life late in the season things. Trust, I'm no fan of Kyle or Mike. And with at least 6 or 7 potential head coach openings Norv Turner will land another gig somewhere else. No way in hell he would come back to DC as an assistant?

Latest word on the Penn State front is that the Search Committee has made its recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Speculation is that Mike Munchak (Titans' head coach) and Tom Clements (Packers QB coach) are near the top of the list. Tony Dungy would be a great hire for Penn State but I don't think he encouraged the Search Committee at all.

My suggestion about Norv coming to DC was pure wishful thinking. I know it won't happen - - but Norv is one fine OC and play-caller.

I like what we have in that area right now with Paul, Hankerson coming on as the young guys. He just seems to be a big ego in the locker room and I think we should stear clear of that kind of personality.

No way I go for Forte. He is one of the best every down back in the NFL, but with Helu and Royster and possibly Hightower (i think he gets released) we have a good tandem plus they are only 1st year guys.

As far as the draft picks with Minnesota, that may be the only option you pose that is realistic. RGIII will be available at that position in the draft. If that is a possibility, I think we'll get him. They like a mobile QB that can move around the pocket, perform the rollouts, so I think he is a good possibility.

As far as Kyle goes, no. We need to keep some continuity in Ashburn. He is a good offensive coordinator. It takes time people, plus it takes the horses. And we are missing the biggest horse needed to run this offense.....the QB. the offense is leaps better than last year. THe last month or month 1/2 have been a very productive period. Avg about 20+ points a game, yardage is up there, running game is up there. Just keep this ship moving in the right direction. Bringing in a different OC or DC diverts the ship and that is what we DO NOT NEED. THere is marked improvement on both sides of the ball, and more importantly the improvement has been brought on by the youth movement in DC. Oline is younger, receivers are younger, RB's are rookies. We are going in the right direction, just have some patience.

We disagree on two points.

1. DeSean Jackson is significantly better as a WR than Santana Moss was, is now or will be in the future. At the same time, Santana Moss is a significantly better teammate/locker room presence than DeSean Jackson was, is now or will be in the future.

Jackson is a better WR than anyone on the Redskins roster now and possibly for the last decade. He is also a pain in the butt.

My calculus is that he is not worth the trouble he could bring to a young team here - - not that Santana Moss is as good as he is and the Skins do not need a lot of help at WR.

2. The goal of continuity on the team is a good one but when something isn't working you make a change - - by definition that is a break in continuity - - hoping for improvement. If you REALLY want continuity, then the QBs next year will be Grossman and Beck and we can let them grow into the job... The offense needs a lot of improvement - - meaning changes meaning lack of continuity. I am all in favor of upgrading the talent on the field; the team needs it. I am also in favor of upgrading the talent on the sidelines; the team needs that too.

Re: Buy or Sell?

No go on Jackson; too much baggage.

No on Forte! I would prefer a run at Rice, Benson, or Hillis if going after a top-notch FA running back. Would also rate Grant and Lynch ahead of Forte at this point. Maybe even go after a guy like Derrick Ward to add quality depth without using too much cap space. I favor all these options ahead of Forte. Don't like buying damaged goods.

No on trading up. Redskins still need additional depth and can't really affford to give up extra draft picks.

Keep Shanahan and forget Turner. I don't believe Turner would return to Washington even for the head coaching position.

Adrian Peterson won't be the same dominant running back after tearing his ACL/MCL.
I always vote sell on damaged goods. The NFL is a young man's game and running back is a healty young man's position.

Helu & Royster > Forte & Petersen, IMHO

I agree with your statement, but in this case ill take Forte and Peterson on the Skins and watch them dominate the poor tackling defenses of Dallas, Philly and the Giants.
