But sportscurmugdeon thinks this is perfectly fine. He calls it (wait let me say it in the most condescending tone I can find) due process. I call it delay tactics.

Re: First trial in Sean Taylor killing to begin April 16

The judge in this case did not do himself or the judicial process any favors.

When the defendant fired his lawyer recently, the judge warned him that there would be no postponement in the trial. Now, the judge has granted a postponement.

Now, since it will be July until the prosecutor can figure out when he might be available in September/October to stage the trial, it is perfectly possible that the date could be pushed even further back in the event that the prosecutor's calendar and the defense attorney's calendar do not mesh.

Obviously, the judge is perfectly within his authorities to move the date back for this trial, but given his statement to the defendant and the subsequent postponement, there is no reason to believe that the defendant will not try this tactic again in the future. It didn't cost him anything the last time...

Of course this one is a delay tactic. And for the moment, the defendant has the upper hand in the delay game.

Exactly why I think this is a joke. Possibly 5+ years before the case goes to trial? Ridiculous. I think this is just stalling on the defense' part at this point.

This is whats wrong with our judicial system. Not only are we being taxed to keep these assholes feed, housed, and locked up, but Seans family has had to live with this. Shit, is what this is. If you can't put together an effective defense in 5 years, just plead guilty and be done with it. The sentence should be that he has to live in the DC area for the rest of his life. Eye for an eye.

Re: First trial in Sean Taylor killing to begin April 16

My first post WP.

Sean Taylor forever!!!!!!

I would like to see justice for the Taylor/Redskin families but idk how there can be. IMO, no sentences for the ones on trial could repay/replace what the world lost. But the way I see it is, if a Miami hero is killed in Miami and those guilty are sentenced to a Miami prison, well,.... I'll be sure to get the mailing address and send some pink laced panties addressed to those found guilty- No lube. (I apologize for enabling/encouraging forced male orgies(hopefully)).

I was thinking the same thing. As Redskins fans we still mourn him and most of us never knew him personally. I cannot imagine what his familyl has been feeling these last few years.

The world does not need more vigilante justice.

Ask Trayvon Martin's family about that...
