Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
Grabbed him off waivers a couple weeks ago, and also just added Slaton. Don't think slaton will be starting anytime soon by any means, but he's certainly talented. I think starting Morris at RB against the saints would be a great move for the Redskins; he's looked far better than Royster this preseason. Sounds like Helu's a bit beat up still also (although he looked good against a terrible bucs backup defense)

Likely Morris will start if Shanahan is being mum and Hightower was cut.

Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
Not that it matters much either way. It's likely a 3 headed monster at RB all year.

Ah, the old Penn State number, as opposed to 24 his high school number. Both look better than 35

2nd that. You can't overvalue character. That's the kid who becomes a leader like London Fletcher in 10 years. And if your smart enough to hold onto him the whole 10+ years you probably go to the Superbowl somewhere in there. London deserves another Superbowl. Sounds like A Morris has that kind of character. Can't think of a better reason to chat with his bro.

Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
I think if he can stay healthy this is his job all year. I could be totally wrong, but that kid runs the hardest of all the guys we have.

Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
I've been a bit disappointed with Helu in just the few opportunities he's had, which aren't many I realize. But he doesn't look as fast as last year and def doesn't seem to be running as hard either. Morris is def the 1st option. If he stays healthy I see a 1000+ yard season pretty easily.

Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
Morris was definitely a sixth round steal. I like everyone else, I like his running style. He reminds me a lot of Stephen Davis. Straight downhill and he's always driving forward for more yardage. If he does top 1,000 yards, it would make me glad. We haven't had a 1,000 yard rusher in four years.

Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
Not only that buy he would be one of the first rookies to do so I believe.

Re: Alfred Morris pick 6.3
I know of a rookie that rushed for over 1800 yards his rookie season. (Dickerson)
Barry did it too, I think he had around 1300 or so, and I think its actually quite common for rookie running backs to have over 1000 yards. I think its something like 30 or 40 rooks to have done it. I just dont think its as rare as you think. * Just looked this up, there have bee 56 rooks to hit the mark of 1000. Even the Redskins had their own, good ol Reggie Brooks, in 1993. |
