Re: Favorite Finds: Restaurants
To be honest it is not great food (no offense MD; really) it is just good down home cooking. People out there think it is the bomb but if they went to NOVA and sampled more diverse foods they see it ain't all that great.
IMO American cuisine for the most part is boring. Give me Thai, Indian, Mexican, etc....any day over Apple Pie and Fried Chicken.

Re: Favorite Finds: Restaurants
Sir, you need to visit England for really awful food. American cuisine? It's a gastronomic rainbow of laughably large proportions by comparison to the slop I grew up eating.

I should have mentioned that in my post...it's right down the road from the park. Quote:
Probably the place. I'm surprised so many people here know something in such an obscure part of the country.

Re: Favorite Finds: Restaurants
Dude that is a tourist trap. I hate Phillip's so many better places to go for seafood; especially crabs.

Re: Favorite Finds: Restaurants
I go to school in Frederick (Hood College, if you know it) and Black Hog usually stays packed. I've never been there but judging from the crowd, it must be pretty good.
Haven't been to Friscos either. But now I know 2 places to hit up. (I'm a commuter )

This thread blows.
I would have to drive 12 hours to get to those places.

Re: Favorite Finds: Restaurants
Sorry Alvin, I've never been to Michigan.
DR - Black Hog turns tables over pretty quickly, or you can sit at the bar and eat. Definitely worth it.

DOE'S EAT PLACE
Ate here tonight at the original location in Greenville MS. One of the best steaks I've ever had. |
