Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away
Pie is the food of the gods (except Mincemeat and Strawberry Rhubarb, of course).
Pecan, Pumpkin, Coconut Custard, Blueberry, Cherry, Key Lime, Lemon Merangue, Chocolate Cream, Apple. It's all good. But for sure... it's all about the crust. My all time fave was Chocolate Pecan Pie at Christiana Campbell's Tavern at Williamsburg. It knocked me on my ass. |

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away
I've had Chocolate Pecan Pie! I'd like to amend my list.
Given the earlier mention of cheesecake, I'd like to talk about my greatest dessert experience. At a restaurant called 1776 outside of Rehoboth Beach, they have Cheesecake Bruleé - a piece of homemade cheesecake with a caramelized sugar crunchy glazing on it. My wife took a bite and I nearly divorced her.

Yup... if my wife tried that she'd pull back a stump.

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away
I probably just skipped right past it, but why has no one mentioned key lime pie?

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away
Pie #5 on my list, TAFKAS. Key Lime is good, but it's not a three-slicer like apple, or the vastly under-rated Coconut Custard.
I think if you can't eat three pieces of a pie before shame takes over, it can't be on the top of the list.

I don't mean to take this off-topic, but what ever happened to Butter Brickle ice cream? That stuff kicks all forms of ass.

Few know that the old Zeppelin tune "Custard Pie" was originally "Coconut Custard Pie".... legend has it, Bonham even had a full drumset custom-made using coconut shells of various sizes-- and he played them with four sticks. From what I've heard, Plant decided to scrap the word "coconut" because it detracted from the sexual connotation of "custard pie". In my humble opinion, he could've actually enhanced the inuendo-- and kept the culinary fantasy intact-- by simply changing it to "Coconuts and Custard Pie". I knew I could take this thread back where it belongs: sexual pie references. Last edited by joecrisp; 03-20-2005 at 10:45 AM. |

Any topic/thread that uses "potential" and "arm strength" and "our guy" in relation to pathetic Patrick Ramsey.
