Re: 2014 salary cap....and the money we have
Here are the veteran releases:
-Chester -Bowen -Carriker -Paulsen -Paul -Doughty, probably -Fletcher, Morgan, Meriweather all have termination options built into their contracts. Move across the board. You can release other veterans later if you draft replacements, but those guys are frivolous at the moment.

Re: 2014 salary cap....and the money we have
Here are the seven players I would target:
- WR Hakeem Nicks OR WR James Jones (Not both) - OT Anthony Collins - G Chad Rinehart - G Mike Pollak - DE/DT Randy Starks - LB Daryl Smith - CB Brent Grimes

Re: 2014 salary cap....and the money we have
I seriously don't know what else people expect Garçon to do to prove he's our legit #1 wr. I'd like a solid #2 who can also be a 1a type wr like Decker or Nicks and obviously o-line and secondary are the main areas of need.

Re: 2014 salary cap....and the money we have
It would be more obvious if he had more long pass plays on his resume. But I think that this is not his fault.

He is a legit number one. The problem with Garçon is he hasn't made enough game changing plays to be nationally recognized.

Re: 2014 salary cap....and the money we have
We need to stay far away from Nicks. He pouted and cried for more money than Cruz, so what did he do in his contract year? He sucked. Big time. No touchdowns and looked like he was giving half effort most of the time. Plus, he's injured pretty often.
He's going to want too much money for what he's worth and probably won't be on the field half of the games if we sign him.

Jones is a good #2 guy. Though he can be inconsistent at times.

Nicks could not catch this year. He's to blame for a lot of Eli's INTs.

Too many stop gaps here. Collins would be a good signing. Problem is doesn't he play left tackle?
