Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
They definitely need to find a mix of the two, however I am not opposed to taking physical freaks like Taylor if it means he might do something unacceptable every now and then. People like Randy Moss who are all talent and poison; those are the people who I wouldn't wish on the Skins.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
A physical freak is worthless if the player cant adjust or is constantly out of position. Everyone in the NFL is talented and while some players are freaks (like LA) the reality is they just cant dominate in the nfl like Shaq can in the nba.
A smart team of average nfl players would pummel a team of Moss', LA's, & Taylors. |

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I'm stunned to hear that Taylor may not be there because he wants to restructure his contract!!! He's not proved anything to anyone yet. He finally earned his starting position last season & now he feels he should be paid better..? I don't see Taylor staying with the Skins after his contract expires, since he's been here he's been all about ST & not about being a Skin. He should learn something from Lavar, Jansen, & Samuels who all showed they love playing in Washington, oh & did I forget to mention that they are all Pro Bowlers too. Sean wake up & get your ass down to the work outs.
Moss is in my opinion, just another small WR who thinks he's large & in charge. The Jets moved him for obvious reasons & so will the Skins soon enough. What happened to players who played for the pride of the game & not just for the $$$ Football players are losing their objectivity.

Ty Cobb - 1924 I know its a different sport, but that was the thinking 81 years ago. Its all a cycle man. . . But I digress. I think that Moss not showing up is HUGE red flag, and if Taylor isn't showing up because of his contract and his contributions with his long and storied career, that is A HUGE FREAKING RED FLAG. . .. |

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I would disagree on that. I do completely agree that the Redskins should look more into character (and I think Gibbs is doing that). I do think that it's really hard to know TRUE character individuals unless it is something that is obvious from college (Clarett) or from another team. I think that the people that the Skins have signed in the off-season (with the exception of Moss) SEEM to be good character guys.

What makes Moss a bad character but Taylor good?

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I didn't say Taylor was good. I AM saying that Moss is not sending good signals because he has no reason not to be at the workouts being a new player at all.
I'd prefer if Taylor were at the team workouts but I think I read somewhere that the U players are all working out in Florida. Taylor is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I wouldn't trade him for any player in last year's draft.

I'm hoping that's not the case, but it very well may be.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I am going to agree with TAFKAS (I think he's the one who said it), Taylor truly did get a minimal contract for someone of his stature. I'm sure he could go about it more tactfully, but he does have reason to want to restructure.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
Bottom line is that Moss is clearly retarded. So someone correct me if i'm wrong, he's coming off a VERY average, he's entering a contract year, and yet he doesn't show up. Wow. Hey Moss you want a big contract how about you have a big year first, and then get your contract. He clearly isn't worth big money, he' got to prove himself. But hey knowing the skins, they'll probably overpay.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
yeah they might. but i don't understand sean taylor. if they gave him an incentive based contract last year and he performed and got his money, why is he complaining about it? this isn't just a problem with the redskins where former miami players go back to workout there. it's a leaguewide problem.st and moss aren't the only players at miami's workout. ed reed and ray lewis are probably down there too. and see what the ravens fans say about them. if st performed well, give him his contract. but im dissapointed in moss. he hasn't even played a down with the skins yet and he's already decided he can do what he wants. i say we give him a good contract at the end of the season if he performs well.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
Taylor got hosed on his rookie contract - let's keep him happy, not piss him off for 6 more years. Give him a moderate contract which he will quickly outgrow. I feel that within two years he will be the best player on our defense without a doubt!
Moss isn't the elite receiver he thinks he is. The whole Coles trade may pan out to be a huge mess. I want everyone there, but Moss is new and needs to build a chemistry with Ramsey, it's going to be hard to be a #1 when Ramsey prefers another WR over you. Also, know what an incentive based contract does for you when your career is ended by an unlucky hit?

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
They're young and they want to hang with their crew while they work out, I don't care. We had the same stuff last season with Taylor and he worked out fine. I do think that he'll look bakc on it at some point and feel stupid, peer pressure is a hell of a thing.
