Re: Couldn't watch Today
Watching the Eagles is like watching my beloved Ducks...they lose now and then but they sure are fun to watch.

Re: Couldn't watch Today
Why are so many people rooting for us to lose more games for getting that higher draft pick?
If history is any indication, we´re picking a kicker or a tight end... |

Re: Couldn't watch Today
We are easily the worst team and franchise in the NFL now -- I think being shut out at home by a team with a losing record (albeit a very good defense), having the RGIII trade rubbed in our faces BEFORE the game (suggesting that Fisher didn't think there was any chance he'd lose and look stupid for having done it), and the fact that the "sellout" crowds at FedEx Field are really sparse, even though tickets can be purchased off StubHub for $3 (yeah, less than a tall latte at Starbucks, but far less satisfying).
I have been a Redskins fan for 40 years, and the last 20 have really tested my resolve. I am not sure I have more to give to this shit show. Every time we hit a low point, it just seems to sink lower. But, sadly, I think the real low point hasn't happened yet -- but it will come at the end of the season when we get the crap kicked out of us by Dallas (at home) in a way that launches them to the playoffs. If that happens, and it looks like a real possibility, I think I will have to find a new team. I think at this point the only thing that might change my mind is if the team does some dramatic stuff in the offseason along the lines that folks were suggesting -- blowing it up and starting over in some what that seems sensible. (Oh, and by the way, kick Allen to the curb too -- I don't want him anywhere near this team (as President and just doing contracts) after screwing up as the GM so badly.)

Re: Couldn't watch Today
To go through this nonsense for two straight seasons has been rough... .as a eternal fan of this team you hope every week that they not only improve but win! But they always lose......and play with no heart whatsoever....

Re: Couldn't watch Today
If Rg3 starts next week I'm watching if not then no, I'm not waisting my Sundays the rest of the yr on the redskins. I honestly wouldn't blame anyone here if they stopped rooting for the team. Yeah ill always be a fan of the team but I'm to a point to where I really don't care to call them my team anymore

Re: Couldn't watch Today
They're not even lovable losers. I always think of long suffering Cubs fans. No one dislikes them and I find myself rooting for them from time to time. But we are just reviled and season after season becoming more so.

Re: Couldn't watch Today
The problem is the front office...no offensive lineman with the exception of Trent Williams would be starting for another team....the thing that bothers me about Bruce Allen is he was responsible for building those Raiders teams in the early 2000s and drafted well in Tampa Bay...he knows how to build a roster/team.... Allen has the know how...

Re: Couldn't watch Today
If you look at the Tampa drafts from 2004-2008, they were pretty underwhelming. Aqib Talib, Davin Joseph, also a few meh players, and that's about it for 5 years of drafting. Also on his record are busts like Gaines Adams.

Re: Couldn't watch Today
I've been spending Sundays at the NICU with my son, so I've been recording the games. Yesterday's game, however, I decided not to watch it. I recorded it, but found out the score and then deleted it as soon as I got home. I figured there was no sense in investing my time watching a horrible team play their form of football.
There have only been a sparingly few games over the last 20 years that I have not watched. Mostly that had to do with me not being home or for some reason, the game wasn't on TV. I had just started with the NFL Sunday Ticket when I moved to NC, but only that 2012 season has it been worth the money - and I got it free that year, lol! I won't be renewing NFL Sunday Ticket next season. In fact, I'll probably disconnect from DirecTV altogether. That's money that needs to be better spent on my son's medical bills. I'll always be a fan of the Redskins, and watching them play is a big part of my life. But at some point, you just have to realize that it's doing more harm than good. But one thing is for sure, I'll never be a turncoat for another team - unless it's the Panthers. And the only reason why I say that is that I am in Carolina. But, they're not too exciting to watch either. Somebody out there has to be sitting on a stockpile of old games from the 80's. I would much rather spend my time watching those games than what's on the field now. As far as I'm concerned, those were the real Washington Redskins.
