If we were to draft Mariota and either or both RGIII and Kirk were unhappy about - well, that sounds like a personal problem to me. They are getting paid well to play football for the Redskins and they can just deal with it. Hopefully, they would deal with it by competing even harder to win the starting job. We keep hearing about the "investment" in RGIII. I don't think that any draft pick is a investment. They are all gambles because you never really know beforehand who will make it in the NFL. What we paid for the right to draft RGIII is sunk cost. It's gone and it can never be fully recovered. As a practical matter, people should just forget about it.

Re: Quarterback Hype
This team doesn't have the OL to help Mariota, RG3, or Cousins. The offensive line may be fine for a veteran QB, but not these guys.

Re: Quarterback Hype
The O-line needs improvement. But KC only took 7 or 8 sacks. Griffin was sacked over 30 times. If KC can cut down on the terrible INT's he's more than ok with this line.

Re: Quarterback Hype
Hearing 4 GMs will attend the Oregon pro day including McCloughan. Titans, Bucs and Jets GM will be there as well.
I still think Titans will draft him.

I don't understand why people keep talking about RG3 when I talk about the OL. RG3 has his issues that may or may not get resolved. But our OL in general is not suited to help the two QBs we have on the roster; nor will they help a rookie QB. If the team wants to keep the OL the way it is, they need to bring a veteran QB that can overcome these issues. If they want to give RG3 or Cousins another chance or bring in Mariota or another rookie, you can't have the same line we've had in the past two seasons.

Re: Quarterback Hype
IMO I just don't see it. Yes, the Titans are QB-hungry. But Mariota just is not the Whisenhunt type of QB. Whiz loves pocket passers. I just don't see him passing on someone like Leonard Williams so that he can draft a QB at #2 who doesn't fit his system.

Re: Quarterback Hype
I'd imagine mettenburger is the guy in Tennessee but who really knows at this point. If he's there at 5 I wouldn't be surprised if we took him.

Re: Quarterback Hype
Would this be bundled with the Skins trading back? Stock piling more picks while dumping RG3?
At that point there wouldn't be a QB worth taking in the 1st, assuming we drop at least 5-10 picks and Mariota shows well at his pro day. Cousins is the man this year or what?

Re: Quarterback Hype
U hear anything smoot? Idk I just got a feeling that Jay wants someone else. Idk who we trade griffin to though? Maybe houston or Cleveland? I'd say he's worth a 3rd rounder still.

Re: Quarterback Hype
Info for thought on whether the Titans will draft a QB.
Zach Mettenberger the answer? NFL analysts weigh in

Re: Quarterback Hype
Griffin has no trade value at this point. Who's going to want to deal with the drama and all his on the field issues? I would disagree with moving him unless we're blown away with something.

Yes, Safety is a need. But so is quarterback. Which player at #5 overall would fit the description of what you want at safety. Collins? and how sure are you? |
