We're arguably the hottest team in the league right now. Keep that momentum and honestly it wouldn't shock me to see us win at least two games.

Re: How Far Can They Go

It is hard to say because either 2nd round matchup is going to be tough. I am leaning towards saying they would have a better chance against Carolina because of how they matchup. The defense has come up big with all the fill-ins and subs and injury replacements but the Cardinals have a lot of weapons and firepower and I just think they would be able to get over on our defense in the passing game unless we found a way to get after Palmer on a more consistent basis than our pass rush usually does.

That said, I think the match up with the Packers is the one game I honestly feel comfortable in saying we should be favored in.

I love Jackson. You think back to the Posse and Art is obviously the one who went to the HOF, and deservedly so because he was so consistent and dependable. But ask teams facing the Redskins and they told you man for man that it was Gary Clark that scared them most. Parcells in particular thought that.

The speed to take the top off the defense is the ultimate threat. He still has a few good years left in him, he's 29. Gotta keep him.

Re: How Far Can They Go

Right and what a lot of people fail to see is that even when Jackson isn't catching 7-8 balls a game, it is the fact that coverage always has to be shifted his way that helps create all the wide open targets underneath. When you see Jordan Reed one on one juking defenders out of their ankles it's because defenders are so worried about Jackson getting wide open downfield.

I also think Crowder may be a "secret" weapon in the playoffs as he is not talked about much but has shown some signs late in the season that he is going to be legit in the slot. If teams have no choice but to leave him one on one? He has some wheels on him too!

I feel so weird about this maybe because it's elimination do or die playoff time.

My head says the skins should take care of packers but I'm worried for some reason...can't point to what it is though. Maybe just Green Bay getting trashed more than usual in media?

It's because there's this nagging voice in the back of your head that keeps saying "but we've been bad for so long, this can't all of a sudden be for real."

That and Aaron Rodgers is on the other side. But believe it brother, Kirk has made the leap.

We still might lose, because yeah I mean it's Aaron Rodgers who might be the GOAT when his career is finished, but tell that nagging voice to STFU because we're finally headed for genuine contention.

No need to fear GB, despite what the talking heads want you to believe. They just haven't been right on offense all year. They're not going to suddenly put it back together either. Their struggles are real.

The cog that makes this machine move is the OL. Think about our losing seasons, what was the probkem? Our OL is now solid with young studs that will maul people. QB is better, has time to find receivers, running game will improve.

Re: How Far Can They Go

As a fanbase of this team we are not prepared to "expect" to win games. That holds true for this playoff games. I have heard enough analysis on this game that should have me feeling like absent mental mistakes, the Redskins should win this game, however you can't erase 20 years of mediocrity until you win games like this and there will be an absent of belief until you do.

Imagine how fan bases of teams like the Pack, Pats, Steelers, Ravens, etc etc feel over the past decade plus. Losing a playoff game is not the end of the world because they expect their team to be back there next year. All of our recent playoff losses have been followed by a trip right back to the basement, so much as ridden strictly on "all or nothing this post-season"

Our fanbase has been beaten into submission during the majority of the Synder era. The only cure is to win and win consistently.

As always, gotta love power rankings from a business website:

NFL power rankings going into the playoffs - Business Insider

Skins are #11, Seahawks #5

I want a Seahawks Skins Title game matchup at Fedex, and I would try like hell to get tickets. (I also want the Skins to kick their butt back to Seattle if it were to happen).

That is so true. If I could wish one thing for the younger Skins fans, it would be for them to experience the run that we older fans had in the Gibbs I era. It was wonderful! I think it could happen again with Scot, Jay, and Kirk.
