Re: Ugly week 1 again... Post game thread.
Consistently, the O-line Misses blocks, rarely wins the LOS, blocks are too high, gets pushed back, & gets put on their back. Lauvao is and has been the weak link, but the entire O-Line did not play well. Kelley has no where to run; & Gruden refuses to commit to the run. Calling 3 straight pass plays from our own 1? IF Gruden goes 0-4, Gruden's on the Hot Seat. His playcalling is predictable, & nonchalant.
I've always been Anti-Cousins; he'll always be good for at least one bonehead pick per game (he did this at MSU). I've always thought D Jax & Garcon made him look better than he actually is. Granted, the O-Line is not good, but Cousins has benefited from a system (McVay) & talent, (Garcon, D-Jax) that many people have swept under the rug. He is not worth 24 million p/y. Zach Brown had a great game; our best add this offseason. Fuller balled out as did Breeland. Our run defense was solid, don't know if Hood can last 16 games, (he's not a true NT) |

Re: Ugly week 1 again... Post game thread.
Well didn't take long for Mcvay to pass Gruden in opening day wins lol
The play calling to me was so bad. Yea a coach can't help it when there's drops and bad throws but it was a close game he entire time yet we basically quit running after the first drive. Perine never played. Though I'm good w Thomson playing more. I thought he defense was pretty good. It's been a long time since I was excited over all the cornerback play. The game was still there to win... it was just one game. So we're tied with the patriots, whatever lol

We didn't show any fight or want in the 2nd half. Guys just walking around like they don't care.. Same response from JG also.

Garçon saved KC many a time by hauling in balls that were not well thrown. Garçon would have caught that end zone overthrow that Pryor misjudged (imho). Maybe they will get their timing down, though with Garçon it was more balls of steel and a scary grill than anything else.

Cousins had a qbr of 34.8 today. Give me a fucking break.
You can't get paid like a top 5 qb and do that shit.

A disgusting home opener. I'll gladly stick to the Nats on their way to a World Series.

When is Cousins going to get better? He's 29 now, really shouldn't make excuses for him any more. It's only 1 game, but it's the same trend. In big games, which all divisional games are, he continues to make huge game losing mistakes. I have no confidence in him in the 4th quarter. I'd imagine some players have to feel that way by now too. That should have been an easy TD throw, instead interception. If he doesn't make huge improvements in this area, I don't want him resigned for any amount.

Can we move Long to LG and start Chase at C? We need to try something different. We get no push up front at all. Makes running the ball really difficult.

We really need two big nasties at LG and C. Bunch of cupcake softies in the middle. Moses I'm giving the side eye too. How Luvao keeps skirting by year after year is baffling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Covering tight ends continues to be a problem as well. We made Ertz look like a prime Tony Gonzalez. That needs to improve asap. Really don't want to see Carrier catch a TD against us.

Re: Ugly week 1 again... Post game thread.
Can't ask KC to throw 40 plus times with pressure all game long and run 17? That's a recipe for disaster. He needs better balance and a running game. His int's seem to suck the life out of the team. You simply have to come away with 3 there and he let the team down on that one. Gotta do better Kirk.
The o-line was overpowered all game long. Period. Those guys should be ashamed of that performance. How about giving Docston some of Pryor's reps? That drop coming off the goaline late in the game was crucial. D was better and they played well enough to win. Hell they scored. But we still see some of the same things... can't get off the field on 3rd down, can't cover a te. Swearinger is just lost when he's out in space. It's a week to week league but if we lose to fucking McVay then the fanbase is going to erupt. Time to put on your big boy pants Jay... and Kirk. |

Re: Ugly week 1 again... Post game thread.
what bothers me so much is o-line play was really a staple around here for so long. and now with this current group they can't move a college team off the ball. they're warm butter soft.

I agree, there is no energy with this team or the HC. I watched GB/Seattle and its like those teams are playing a different game. Much faster and way more intensity.
