Re: Around the NFL Week 3
And... That's why I was so high on Baker not just for the OU connection.

The Browns deserved it. Their young. Their hungry. They're fighting. You knew it was going to happen eventually.

To last sentence of the article...it actually validates the opposite.... argument of people are watching less tv, reduction in ratings was a norm, etc. was false. If you notice this year... less protest, less coverage of protest ...more people watching football? Pretty much |

Re: Around the NFL Week 3
The Browns are a bad kicker away from 3-0. Amazing how the Cleveland fans are so loyal. If that team was in California they would not out draw a High School team.

Re: Around the NFL Week 3
We don't have a RB who ranks in the top 32 in rushing through week 2:
https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/rb There is no chance of any sustained success without some semblance of a running game unless we have a HOF QB. For the life of me, I don't understand why Jay doesn't just copy another team, cheat off their test, however you want to put it. The Shanahan's run the ball no matter where they are or who they have. I understand they build their offense differently than Jay with the zone running game and faster Lineman (at least in theory). I have always been a fan of continuity because I believe it has value, especially if the team culture is good. I don't know if it's good after the Colt's crap show, but I think it is much improved from several years ago. But culture only matters if it translates to wins. His failure to adapt, and his willingness to open every drive with a 2nd and 9 is simply unacceptable. I have had it with him. We kept the wrong coach.

Re: Around the NFL Week 3
I doubt that Jay Gruden can keep his job without making the playoffs this season - and that's not likely to happen IMHO. One look at our schedule prior to the start of the season led me to believe that we must start off 2-0 to have any shot at the playoffs. Now, if we beat GB I might start to think " Well,OK we had one bad game but we can recover from that." On the other hand, if we play with as little heart and the same shitty coaching we witnessed last week, then I'll be thinking we'll be lucky to have a winning record.
Please don't anyone tell me how bad other teams in our division might be. We have already proven in the Colts game that we can lay a hot stinkin' plopper on the field that is nasty enough to lose to anybody. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 3
Yeah as the Baker Mayfield era now has begun. But coach Hue Jackson has to make it official.
