Re: Brown released, Nick Novak signed

thrash and betts will return, moss can if needed... and parson can be activated if needed.

thrash is the ST guy and betts and moss are kinda important, so this leaves us a bit thin at WR... hope jacobs is ready to pick it up NOW.

"coach gibbs, are you confident in ramsey?" :gibbs: "no he is useless in the pocket and makes shitty decisions" hmmm, is that what you guys want to hear?? let the coach be the coach and you guys be the fans. gibbs knows what he is doing, you guys let the media translate and give stories extra toppings and some of you guys think you know the whole story. gibbs named a starter, but he didnt say that starter wouldnt be yanked at any given time. and i think they are both starting to realize that the redskins and ramsey arent going to work the way you want them to. face reality peeps who are critics. gibbs see's everything behind the scenes and hears alot more than our little interviews we get on skins .com and the post.
YOU DONT KNOW BUT WHAT THE MEDIA GIVES US
please, cut out all this bow-down-and-accept-my-views crap, man... we're allowed to disagree with you, and with gibbs. I'm really getting tired of people like you telling us that we have no right to as opposing opinions. We've all seen the games and a bunch of the practices, and that counts for something. Whatever happens behind the scenes, the on-field results are the most important measure.

Yeah, that's a bit disconcerting. Really all we have now are four receivers. One of whom (Thrash) will be sharing return duties, and another (Jacobs) who has yet to prove he can be healthy on a consistent basis. That leaves us really thin. Do we call up Parson? Bring back Dyson maybe?

But I'm also wondering is this just a temporary roster move? I mean they sign Nick Novak to a contract because Hall is hurt. But Hall isn't put on IR and we have a bye week next week. So Brown is released so we can add a kicker for this week. In a week or two, we cut Novak and resign Brown provided he's still available. It's a gamble, and not the smartest one in my opinion, but I suppose it's possible

I think brown's turnovers killed his chances for this team. U can find many fast guys if u look hard enough, but guy that won't make mistakes if whats really important.

Brian Mitchel u ready to come out of retirement?

Re: Brown released, Nick Novak signed

actually nick novak competed with jose cortez in dallas in the preseason and from the reports i heard, he sucked. cortez easily won the kicking job. i doubt novak will be our replacement for hall, i think they would sign someone else. that's just my opinion though.

Actually, he spent the entire preseason with Chicago. They cut him in late August, then the Cowboys claimed him for a couple days, but eventually released him. From what I heard, he very nearly outplayed Brien with the Bears.

Re: Brown released, Nick Novak signed

Anyone upset over the loss of Brown has not been watching the games. They have several people already on the roster that can do as good or better than Brown without the fumbles.

Basically the redskins are making all moves necessary to minimize turnovers. They are a ball control defensive team and that formula only works if you protect the football.

Yeah, unless your Mark Brunell.... you can score 7 points for the other team every week and keep your job.

The only way you lose your job is if you generate game losing, devastating turnovers consistently over your brief NFL career and then defecate your drawers in suprise when you get benched. Self entitlement is the only sure way to the bench.
