Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but I just found this little tidbit on the AP wire:
Everyone else with a "CB" by his name -- starters Shawn Springs and Carlos Rogers and nickel back Walt Harris -- was idle as the team broke in the game plan for Sunday's showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. All three were listed as "probable" on the injury report, but the Redskins were otherwise cagey about the trio's prospects. Springs stymied reporters with "No comment -- don't ask" when approached at his locker, and coach Joe Gibbs said it was too early in the week to tell who will play and who won't. That last comment by Gibbs should be of concern. |

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
Actually that news is in reverse. Those comments came on Monday and the upgrade came today. There's a link on the Skins website about it actually saying that none of their injuries were as seriously as previously thought. Also, you were talking about depth, we will have plenty of it because all of our DTs are finally coming back from injury this game.

I'm sure they're all banged up pretty bad, and Dallas will pick on them a little, but whatever. They'll be pumped full of anti-inflammatories and painkillers beforehand. It's December, playoff-implications, NFC east football. Gotta love it.

Besides the article mentioned all three being listed as PROBABLE for Sunday, and Coach Gibbs did not release that injury report until today, the 14th. |

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
Well, well, well. Look's like the injury bug tore some ass up in East Rutherford, NJ. Mr. Giant America himself, Antonio Pierce is out at least three weeks with a high sprain that is serious enough that they already have talked about shifting their entire defensive package moving two-year starter Nick Grieson MLB. See Antonio couldn't keep his big mouth closed and now he will have to stand on the sidelines and watch us beat the shit out of his team. Oh, they also lost Luke Pettigout, Kareem Mckenzie, and William Joseph. Good luck against Larry Johnson New York G-Strings!

Yeah I saw that about the Giants. They are going to have thier hands full with the Chiefs. Chiefs are in a big-time must win situation now. That is going to be a hell of a shootout in the Meadowlands.

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
You know something just occured to me.
If Dallas is able to squeak out a win this weekend and KC beats NY, those two circumstances will force me to be a Redskin fan for a week, since the Giants come to FedEx on Christmas Eve. Thats a scary thought. |

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
I think Rogers will definitely be fine. A little biceps problem is not a huge deal, at least you can run. I'm still concerned about Springs, since he has groin issues.
But honestly, it's nothing short of HUGE for us to have both Salavea'a and Griffin playing in this game. When was the last time that happened? It's been a while. I think the Cowboys are going to have a very hard time running the ball on us. Hopefully we can muster up enough in the pass coverage department. Also huge is Thrash playing. Jacobs is lousy as a #2. Thrash is mediocre as a #2. That little upgrade may be enough for us to run a few 3-WR packages. Those are the packages when we may be able to get #89 open for a game-breaker. But forget all that other stuff, I'm just happy Big Joe is going to be out there. I love that guy, he's so damn fierce! |

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
looks like everyone who isn't on IR will be ready for this game. This is the way this type of game has to be played. I know that there will not be any ref **** ups and that this game will go down to the wire. GET READY FOR ONE HELL OF A GAME

Turnovers will not be a burgundy and gold issue this week. Hmm, "Wash did not look good in Arizona". I was at the game, second row 35 yard line and I seem to remember an incredible defensive performance against the NFL's best passing attack. Rogers 9 solo tackles, says enough for me. Pressure was above average on Warner in a nickel/6 DB set. We'll have Bledsoe begging for retirement sunday. Pray he does not get a TheisMAN payback by Marcus. WE'LL HAVE DALLAS |

Re: Ok everyone can breathe (CB injury report)
I think Thrash will be tremendous, just because of his experience and his feel for also getting open and coming back to the QB if the play breaksdown, something many critics have said Jacobs lacks. He is not the greatest but we forget he was the # 1 receiver for the Eagles the years they went to the NFC championship game and can hold his own, just not real explosive #1 guy. He is very dependable. Barring turnovers I love our odds in this game. Springs is the only one who concerns me on the injury report.
That is great news about Pierce not serious, but enough to keep him out for a while. When he went out that is when Phili made there come back last week and they mentioned how the Gints D was out of place in the second half. Think that is a bad sign for the Giants. Pierce can play and is a true good linebacker and the centerpiece for their D. Down with the boys then to a more promising game with the Giants. |
