Not sure it is "that simple" but it definitely gives us a much better shot at winning.

I don't think any D can completely stop Tiki the way he's playing this year. He's such a well conditioned back that he can break one when everybody's worn down. BUT, our D-line is playing much better ball which may allow us to get some coughs/INTs from Eli and maybe even Tiki. We need to convert those opportunities like we did yesterday to win

Tiki will break a big run or two, but if our D can keep him out of the end zone and pressure Manning, we can keep Barber from hurting us the way he did last time.

This game's even bigger than the Dallas game, and the fans played a key role. We need the fans to go crazy against the Giants, too. I was at FedEx yesterday, and I hope the fans going Saturday are ready to be just as loud!

Remember that Tiki put 200+ on us when Cornelius Griffin was hurt. It's obvious that our D is much superior with Grif manning the middle.

Looking at Barber's 2 games against us last year (with Griffin in the lineuup):

18 carries for 42 yards (2.3 average)
15 carries for 38 yards (2.5 average)

Zero TDs for both games. I love our chances against backup tackles in a LOUD FedEx field. Limit Barber, and our D tees off on Eli much as it did against Bledsoe.

what are the chances of LaVar playing??? we need him to stop Barber and get to Manning, if he's in with Griffin we could maybe repeat what happened with Dallas. if Manning gets time, he'll kill us with Burress and Toomer or deadly screens to Finn and Barber.

Pierce is out, so we need to attack that middle with Cooley (he's been working the outside so much, we could benefit changing it up), Sellers/Portis inside combo, and Thrash, we need Thrash back to take those inside slants now more than ever.

Harris, Springs and Rogers need to get some REST this week!

Yesterday was the best I've seen the Redskins Defense play since last season. They were hitting out there and punishing any one who attempted to catch the ball. To win agianst the Giants,the skins have to study these Giants like they did the boys. keep Manning on his back and bottle up Tiki. The Offense has to control the ball and possession time. Consistently put points up on the board. Win the take away battle.

Good things for us:
1. It's at home ~the 12th man has to show up big for us!
2. It's a must win for us, if we win we'll be in better position for playoff contention
3.We beat the boy's~ that is a major confidence boost

Not to sound like a broken record of every sports announcer, but the guy is seriously underrated. He basically carries that team. How many 200+ yard games has he run for? 200+ against us last time, 220 on Saturday - the guy's a beast. Joe is the man but I seriously spent a lot of time in the 2nd half yelling at the TV that he needs to take out starters, including Portis and Brunell but also others - we're already banged up and it was 35-0 at home at night in the cold. This loss (Randy Thomas) hurts - did you see him running up and down that field bashing people out of the way? I love Ray but can't rely on him - who else do we have to replace RT?

Love the optimism and the detail in your posting. Still - and I'm as excited as I've been since late 1999 about this team - this is a serious hurdle coming up. This team utterly spanked us last time; just a horrendous beating. Anyway I think that even with all the positives (game at home, Pierce out, Giants less at stake, 3-game win streak for us and generally positive/confident clubhouse, peaking at the right time, still no injury problems for Brunell this late, possible Arrington return, etc.) it's going to be one of those games where just everybody needs to totally step up to another level - just take over the game in the middle of the second quarter or something and say we'r
e at home and we ain't leaving tonight without a win - god how I pray. Hope all is well.

Great stat !! But - didn't a healthy Pierce (and for that matter Arrington) play in both of those games?

When coaches play against former players they have a great advantage.

We beat Dallas twice because of Williams and the fact that he used to coach Bledsoe.

Remember how we said that Pierce used to do all the defensive play calling for the skins.

The reason that the giants beat us is because they knowor defensive playbook.

The only way that we can beat them is if we change up the D completely for one game and trick them.

I'm concerned about this game.

I have to disagree on this one WW, Tiki is an outstanding back, behind a decent line, the giant line isn't spectacular, Tiki makes an awful lot happen on his own, he has great second effort after contact, the steroids don't hurt either.

The obvious is stop Tiki, but having watched Eli, I would flood him with the blitz, he's a QB who would rather throw it up for grabs than give up a sack, I would then put Taylor on Buress, Taylor is the one player that can man up on such a big WR and intimidate him, and jump with him, take away both those options at all costs and I believe the rest of our defense can stop anything else the G-men throw at us, I do believe that Washington can man up with Shockey, we have the players on defense to shut them down, I also think our right side will be much tougher against the run with Griffen in there.

On offense, well I would probably attack there outside with the run, this would be the one game I believe Gibbs should put a blocking back in the backfield with Portis, [probably Cooley] I would then put Sellars in motion and have him earhole there ends all day long to seal the outside, then with a blocking back in front of him let Portis do his thing on the outside against smaller defenders. The Giants biggest threat on defense is their ends, they both can really disrupt the offensive flow, I would have Sellars cracking back on them and just pound on them all game to ware them out. After a few series of that they will worry more about Sellars drilling them from the side than getting upfield then we can start passing. I probably would rather have Sellars in the backfield leading the play, but only if we have a player who can really pound their ends, I don't know if Cooley packs that kind of wolup, possibly Kozlowski.

I believe the rest will take care of itself.
