Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread
Plus he needs to play against a first team defense in a real game situation, which I'm going to assume he's going to have his difficulties and growing pains. I hate repeating myself, but if JC doesn't work out then we go into rebuilding mode if we go with Colt. Colt will need to develop as a QB and be able to handle the pressures of real game situations and playing against first team defenses. Yes he has looked great in the preseason, but only playing against 2nd and 3rd team defenses in preseason games that don't count. He should develop into a good QB, but in the meantime we are looking at at least two seasons (assuming that JC doesn't do well this season, and a second season for Colt to develop) of growing pains and possible losing seasons until Colt can produce. (Hey if the kid can produce right away, great, but that's wishful thinking).

Re: Redskins vs. Jaguars Thread
Where are these people that say colt should start this year? All I read is people complaining about these" colt should start" people but where are they? Certainly not on this forum if you take out the sarcasim. Long day at work.

I don't think there are folks that think Colt should start now, more like if JC doesn't gel this season or next it might be time to declare the JC experiment dead in the water. Once Colt gets his mechanics down with the proper way to plant his feet while throwing, he will be pretty good. The sidearm thing isn't as much of a problem as his awkward stance. |

I HOPE nobody's saying colt should start. I am saying we give JC the whole season and IF he does bad then put Colt in.

I agree, JC gets all this season and part of next, unless he does incredibly bad, which I do not see. My big question is this, can he last a complete season? He is going to get knocked around alot. |
