Plus he needs to play against a first team defense in a real game situation, which I'm going to assume he's going to have his difficulties and growing pains. I hate repeating myself, but if JC doesn't work out then we go into rebuilding mode if we go with Colt. Colt will need to develop as a QB and be able to handle the pressures of real game situations and playing against first team defenses. Yes he has looked great in the preseason, but only playing against 2nd and 3rd team defenses in preseason games that don't count. He should develop into a good QB, but in the meantime we are looking at at least two seasons (assuming that JC doesn't do well this season, and a second season for Colt to develop) of growing pains and possible losing seasons until Colt can produce. (Hey if the kid can produce right away, great, but that's wishful thinking).

I agree, JC gets all this season and part of next, unless he does incredibly bad, which I do not see. My big question is this, can he last a complete season? He is going to get knocked around alot. |
