Those are great accomplishments. So why the heck isn't he in the HOF?

Robb Akey was hired as the DL coach, comes here after one year with Vikes. He was the U of Idaho head coach for 6 years (Iupati's coach).

Anyone heard what our organization likes about him and what the Vikings didn't?

One year and done with a team isn't reassuring.

The Vikings ran a base 4-3, not that it really means much.

The guy seems to have a ton of experience on the college level.

EDIT:

Barry was on Akey's staff at Northern Arizona 96-98 according to an ESPN reporters tweet.

I don't know anything about this guy, but I honestly didn't know anything about the previous defensive line coach either. But, I believe that sometimes certain individuals, together, turn out to be a lot more successful than if they are spread out across other coaching staffs. What I mean is, maybe these guys will all click together on Gruden's coaching staff where as they don't share that same chemistry on other coaching staffs? Who knows? I just want this team to win.

That's what I'm hoping for.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

So, what exactly does a quality control coach do anyway?

Here's a nice article about it:

I was asking myself the same thing.

If he's assessing the quality of this team he's got a long arduous road ahead of him.
