Just leaving now from the game, really hard to see everything or anything. But it was nice not to see the steeler fans leave laughing!

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Preseason Pre-Game Thread

Shayne Graham really nullified that kicking competition today. I mean him and Gano are going in two completely opposite directions, which isn't a bad thing. Graham will probably be one of the first cuts. It's also the first time I can say I'm actually not concerned about going into a season with Gano as our starting kicker. Maybe that's just because S. Graham's problems really made Gano look even more impressive. And Aldrick Robinson may or may not be a PS candidate, but he definitely didn't help his case tonight.

Super Bowl. Kidding. Missed the game tonight and forgot to DVR. Nice stats though. Looks like we kicked some a**. I saw the first drive and missed the missed FG. Nice first game though.

Looks like the skins done everything against backups according to this article:
Grossman has TD pass as Redskins top Steelers 16-7 - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

But come on. Their starters barely played. Our starting offense played the entire first half against Pitt's #2's with the exception of a series or two, and it was 7-7 tie at halftime. Not exactly bragging material.
I beg to differ. We played an established Super Bowl winning team in the Steelers. They have not been rebuilding their depth like we have. Our offensive line was much improved. Rex played really well. Most of the receivers showed good progress. Our RB corps appears to be a stable again instead of a barn. The front 7 look much improved with all of our new pick ups. Yes I will concede the secondary needs improvement, but I thought overall this team has looked a hell of a lot better in this first preseason game than in recent memory. I just think its reason to celebrate. At least we aren't going backwards for once. Sorry for being happy. I'll stop if it makes you feel better...

Seems, like the media hates the skins for some reason.
Well, Pittsburgh's starters barely saw the field, so it's not really hating, just a fact.

Pittsburgh is a very stable team roster-wise and defending AFC Champs. They have no need to risk anyone in week 1 of the preseason. They don't even really have any major position battles going on either. Pretty much every starter from last year is back.

But, but, but...it should have been 10-7!

Some people on here only saw him as a "3rd down back" and a backup to Torain.

I checked our schedule. Steelers second teamers not listed on there.

Oh well, maybe next year.

Hey don't get me wrong, I'm always happy to see the Redskins win, but all those things our starters did, let's not get ahead of ourselves and remember that we really couldn't manage more than a 7-7 tie with our 1's playing their 2's during most of the first half. I would hope our starters would look good playing backups.

But I agree, it's nice to see some positive changes when compared to last year. I'm stoked about Hightower. Dude's a baller.

Can't underrate this, at least.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Preseason Pre-Game Thread

I'd like to see our starters get more snaps than usual this pre-season. Seeing as how they lost every OTA and three weeks of camp I think every opportunity they have to get on the field and actually work with the systems in full pads is critical. Everyone else can do the typical light load for starters but I think the right move is to use them MORE. I'd love to see them play the whole half next week and deep into the second half after that. In the fourth I'd even give them a half.

Beck proved the hatters wrong today. And I must say: he wore it well.
