Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
absolutely NOT. Shanahan has reshaped this roster with young talent in basically two years. THe offense is working very very well, and needless to say without our #1 receiver, that we all saw when healthy and on the field does make a difference. Our TE is down, but most importantly we have RGIII, and the Shanny's are doing a spectacular job of designing the offense to suit his strengths.
Total shame to show Shanahan the door at the end of the season. |

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Regardless of how many Redskins fans feel, this team is only a year away from prime time. The Redskins have pieces on both sides of the ball but they need to attain a little more in the draft, free agency, and by making trades. It's too bad that the pass defense became so anemic this season. The pass defense is the only thing that's been holding this team back. The offense has been doing their part. I'm not able to recognize if it's the coverage schemes that the defensive coaches are employing or if the problem is having the wrong personnel. Either way, something has to change either now or in the off season.

One was completely relevant to his game and one has nothing to do with football. Deer in the headlight wide eyes that rivaled Vinny when he was under pressure. Ugghh. Oh and for some reason I hate his mustache. Borderline Hitler like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Then again Rak and Carriker may come back and restore the pass rush. Why do we need a punter? Is he not going to heal from the injury?
Any reason to assume Garcon will not return to normal? Paulsen has proven to be a nice addition Any reason to think Fred will not be back? Depth at Olin may be an issue....then again That basically leaves D secondary.....

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
He has one reception - four targets - I know one was a bad bad drop - also I am thinking he is not so sure handed in practice or he would be seeing the field more?
edit: just for the record - I thought this guy was gonna be a real steal from Tampa - led them in TD passes last year - only 6 i think, but still led the team. But when he did finally sniff the field he kind of wet the bed. |

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
He made some pretty awesome catches during pre-season. Not ready to write off Briscoe yet. Maybe as he plays more he'll get more looks and more opportunities to prove himself. Else he has the Brandon Branks syndrome; great in pre-season, lemon in the regular season.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
You're right man, it wasn't significantly better. We didn't get a whole lot of pressure on Brees, mostly he and the WR weren't on the same page for their opener.
