I think Kenrick Ellis and Jerrell Powe are just as good as Taylor, and just as capable of playing the NT position effectively as he would.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
NT is a very hard position to pick, it's like drawing straws. Most drafts NTs Are 50-50

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I think Steve Young said it best, to paraphrase him, DT (or NT) is a position in which desire determines success as much as anything. I know that could be said of any position, but the point he was making is that DT/NT's can have a thankless job, getting double-teamed, ending up on the bottom of a pile of 300+ lb. men. It would be easy to give up on many plays at that position, and that's what a lot of them get a bad rep for, e.g. Rogers, Haynesworth to name a couple. Taylor has the same rep to some degree.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I think Bryant could be what we are looking for. Get a serviceable FA NT or a late round project NT to rotate in with Bryant and I think we will be okay. We have so many needs I'd like to see them address with higher picks elsewhere. Or if we can get a steal for the NT kid from Baylor I'd be okay with that too.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
He's a slow Byron Leftwich. His release may be quicker than BL's though. Mallet does not look like a west coast qb. Al Davis is the most likely to nab him in the 1st round, unless he still is high on JC.
