Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
One of the things I am excited about, when Cousins finally signs with his new team, he is going to do one of those interviews where everything is exposed, and he's going to tell you what it was really like being here. But Kirk will do it in a classy way, he will be political about it all, while telling the truth and not going out of his way to overly badmouth the team. I would like to hear his side.

I don’t see Kirk dishing any dirt. He’s not that guy. He’ll just say he’s happy to be wherever he signs and he’s ready to get to work.

I do not necessarily agree with all of this, but if it is all true it is more reason why they should have gotten rid of him before the trade deadline isn’t it? |

How would the fan base have reacted if we had Colt McCoy as our starter, and some street free agent dipshit as our backup (remember, Sudfeld was on the Eagles at that point).

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I think Schneed said it best, he didn't want to be here, and he played the game perfectly for himself. NFL is a tough business and players don't owe owners or fans anything so good for him for himself. But as a Skins fan, if a player bitches over not being loved enough despite being drafted by the team when he got passed over a 100+ times, and made 44 million the last 2 years, I can all him a pansy ass bitch.
He never committed to our team or said I want to be here 100%, so fuck em man. Never made a counter offer either. Is Jay a great HC? No, I don't think so. Can he make dudes like Dalton and Kirk 2nd Cousins have great stats? Sure can, been doing it for like 8 straight years or something. Kirk is a cry baby who constantly needs pats on the back in an industry where feelings don't matter. He's an under .500 QB who pretends like he's just as good as Aaron Rodgers. Hey Kirk, you're not. Get over it bro. I'm glad we got Alex locked in with more room to bring in or resign some Hogs. HTTR! For me, i think what it comes down to is, that Kirk thinks he's better than he actually is and needs everyone to confirm it for him. I just don't understand how Skins fans dog a QB that in 3 years performed better than all most any QB in the league. this year was probably his best year when you factor in injuries, lack of WR support, lack of a running game and a HORRIBLE Defense. Go back to last year and the games the D lost in the 4th quarter. if our D was half as good as it actually was we win 10-11 games and aren't having this discussion. I have been a skins fan for a LONG time and I can never remember having a guy under center that legitimately gives us a chance to win every game. As an organization - you want to win. Bruce and Dan just seem to crap in the face of the fans and the overall betterment of the team. Bruce gets rid of not 1, but 2 1000 yard receivers!! And to me, was done to undermine kirk to try and prove he wasn't worth the franchise money. Egos shouldn't get in the way of doing what is best for the organization and it continuously does with these idiots. |

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I agree with CRed somewhat. I think KC is good, don't get me wrong. But his stats look like top 5 in the NFL because of the Gruden system. We have to give credit where it's due - the guy knows how to scheme in such a way to leverage his talent.
In 2016 he had Pierre, DeSean, and Reed mostly healthy and playing. We played Jackson deep and Reed and Garcon in the seams and underneath, it worked well. Now in 2017 Gruden realizes he's not as stacked at WR so he uses the athleticism of Trent, Scherff and Chris Thompson to crank up the screen game. Andy Reid does this well, too. So I still conclude that Smith will basically duplicate Cousins's production, maybe with fewer turnovers. But I think it means that Cousins better be careful where he lands, because the scheme here was pretty QB friendly. He needs to make his way to something similar or he could end up disappointing his new fans.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
Kirk had quite a few games where he had "garbage yards" if you will, when the D was in prevent and he was able to sling it around.. His best overall performance was The GB game and the Dallas T-GIving game, both of those he proved he can be a top tier passer.
Kirk Cousins doesn’t think trade hurts his value – ProFootballTalk “It’s just about winning. It doesn’t matter where you live, the other variables. If you’re not winning, the rest doesn’t matter. Ultimately, it will be: Can we win? That’ll be the No. 1 factor.” So why didn't you want to WIN in DC? Gtfoh

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
yeah he is , I used to really like Kirk until last OS when he kept saying the same shit. Maybe the FO didn't go out of its way to keep DJAX and PG because they didn't know if Kirk would stay?

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
They were just older and wanted a ton of money. Value proposition wasn't there. Don't think it had anything to do with Cousins.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
The time has come I guess to pick him apart and justify why we feel ok with moving on.
Kirk seems like a good dude and he was easily the best QB we’ve seen here in a very long time. I truly wish him the best. I’ll keep a close eye on the rest of his career. |

This! Lol. So true, and I'm probably the most guilty here. Isn't this 1 of the 5 steps of grief?
