I think Zorn was talking about J.Taylor. I didn't hear anything about Jansen. Although at this point he's playing much more like a liability than an asset.

If we wanted to improve our wideouts for this season, we should have signed a veteran.

I hope we sign McMullen. He has his faults but has played much better thatn the rest of the new wideouts. Plus he is a vet and knows the WCO. We need that because these rookies WRs are not ready and atleast we will have 4 vet wide receivers. I just hope that both of the rooks aren't bust. But its still early so Iwouldn't give up on Devin yet..and we are yet to see Kelly play. But if we have these 4 vets on the team we will have experieince until these rookies show up hopefully later in the season.

Redskins.com website: "In a surprisingly poor showing" I just had to laugh at this. I hope we don't have anymore of these surprisingly poor showings.

Who is saying that ?!? Randy Moss and T.O. ? No Warpather that I've heard has made that kind of comparison to Kelly and Thomas who have hardly even played. All I said was that I'm not ready to ask for a refund on them yet.

I think the plan all along was to see if either Thomas or Kelly could step up and provide some help at the #2 spot, with Randle El in the slot; and if things went really well, they could be the future #1 and #2 somewhere down the road.

I was being a bit sarcastic...and you're right, no one is making those claims. However, I'm glad you mentioned that Thomas and Kelly are (hopefully) the wideouts of the future. Because, I think that if we have problems with our passing game (like last year), then I think we fail to address this problem by getting rookies WR, because they will not contribute right away.

Devin Thomas was scared for his life on returns tonight. That is what I saw. No more negative stuff from me, but that was a joke.

As someone who has never played football, I don't see how anyone could play any position on special teams without sh*tting their pants.

Not everyone is cut out to be a returner. It would certainly help if Thomas showed something on special teams, but so far, nothing. We're going to have to be patient with Thomas and Kelly.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread

Here's my observations from tonight, and I sat through the debacle in person and took the drunken jeers from Panthers fans. Sadly, I could not say wait til the regular season.

1. Kareem Moore was all over the field. He's got great range, and I think he would be a better compliment to Laron Landry than Reed Doughty.

2. Fred Davis continues to impress and make solid contributions. He will be an asset in double TE packages.

3. Jason Campbell is way too indecisive. I'm really starting to wonder if he's the answer at the QB position. Guys were in position to make plays, and he just won't trust his receivers. He just does not get rid of it like he should.

4. GW's scheming is what made our defense.

5. Devin Thomas is still a deer in headlights. He's not reacting quick enough between the kick returns and that 4 yard screen that should've been a 40 yard TD. He just didn't go for the outside and in general doesn't look aggressive.

6. Yes, Jansen stood out as the worst of the worst, but the entire O-Line was getting manhandled all night.

7. If that's the dress rehearsal, I'd hate to see the show.

I just got home from the game. I don't want to talk about it. This game was a serious comedy of errors.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread

I missed watching the game because I had to work tonight, but evidently I didn't miss much. I watched the game highlights on NFL.com and I'm probably gonna watch the game (I recorded it) on Tuesday since that's my next day off.

Seems this team has a lot of work to do in order to get ready for the regular season. I said the same thing I'm saying now after we got blown out by the Pats in preseason two years ago, I think. I'm glad this happened in preseason, because A. the game doesn't matter, and B. it gives us one game to correct our mistakes in time for the regular season.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread

I live in Charlotte and hate the Panthers. Why are people so surprised they came at us so hard? Folks outside of D.C. need to understand the history the Redskins have as far as fan support in the Carolinas. Before the Panthers all we could see on T.V. were the Skins. The Panther organization HATES the fact so many Skins fan reside in North Carolina ...and in Charlotte.John Fox? A former New York Giant coach and we expect him to be nice to us? Plus Joe Gibbs turned Richardson down when the Panthers were formed.THEY hate the skins.WE hate them here in Charlotte. My hatred for the Panthers ranks up their with Dallas. They pimp slapped us.John Fox has no class. They needed this game .Steve Smith wont play in front of their fairweather fans for a month so they had to put on a show to give their dumb fans a high cause when Steve Smith returns they will be 0-2.If we get to play them in any situation from this day lets remember August 23, 2008.The lost just has made my hatred for them grow.Im still gonna wear my gear with no shame. We got some things to correct.Lets not lose sight of the season and letting 1 game define us.Beat the Giants on opening night. I hate em.I hope Jake gets hurt again.I hope Steve Smith gets hurt.Their cheerleaders are fat and ugly .Their Chief Zee wannbee is a fat drunk. their mascot sucks , their fans suck. I know its wrong to wish ill on anyone but I hate the Panthers.I hate em and I hated them before this lost.I hope we can see them in the playoffs and kill them .I HATE EM.If I was given the choice of cheering for the Panthers or sleeping with a man.He better pucker up and get some vasoline.Yeah I said it.I hate em.I HATE EM

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread

I missed the game on TV tonight, but listened to it on the radio. I have to agree with mooby. I'm glad we last. It is preseason, but it gives the team that feeling of failure and basically getting their asses handed to them to realize they need to focus and execute when on the field. I want this team to succeed and make the playoffs, but if we play this year like we did tonight, it's going to be a long season. I know we won't see much of the first string players on Thursday, so I hope they take this time and get the s**t together before we travel to The Meadowlands. Let's Go Burgandy and Gold!!!!!
