Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I wouldn't oppose to trading for Carr as long as we are not giving up our 1st round pick

That’s what it would take though. He’s been a very good QB for his career and coming off a really good season. What are we picking at 19 that is better than Carr? The only QB that could be left by then is Mac Jones.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Maybe so and I’d do it today seeing as though Stafford is probably out

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'd take Carr if he becomes available and the deal was good. Aside from 2017 he's steadily gotten better which suggests to me he's starting to peak. He's 29 which means he has years ahead of him. If you paired his 2020 season (best) with our D we'd definitely be better than 7-9. He'd need 2-3 more weapons, but if the trade wasn't too onerous we'd have picks left to get WR and TE, as well as fill OL and D gaps. And that's assuming we don't make good pickups in FA. In watching him on Hard Knocks and seeing him play, he reminds me of the same style of play as Favre, statistically he's arguably better at this stage of his career (rating, TD:INT).

I agree, his arm is good and he doesn’t make boneheaded decisions. I think the Raiders are dumb if they let him go

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Might as well take a chance on him if Gruden does his perpetual “my QB isn’t good enough and I can’t really develop them like I’ve conned people into believing I can, so I’m looking for another one” schtick....for our 2nd or 3rd I’d do it today.

Yes, he does bonehead decisions, trust me. If the Raiders want to get rid of him there is a reason.

Yes, Jon Gruden’s an idiot and a horrible coach.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Carr averages 10 INTs a season.. I’d say that’s not too bad
24 Passing TDs per as well. He’s a solid Top 15 guy

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Carr's price tag should be much less than Stafford.
Whoever we wind up with, it better not be too expensive. Carr for a first rounder in any season, and I'll be pissed. But Carr for a 3rd rounder? I'd be happy as a clam. It all depends on what it costs to get him. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I don't love Carr but we need a QB. A 1st seems a tad high but I wouldn't be too mad. A 2nd or lower and I'd be happy.
We need to add a stud WR2 for him though. He isn't an elite playmaker imo, he needs a strong cast (as most do).
