Seems this team has a lot of work to do in order to get ready for the regular season. I said the same thing I'm saying now after we got blown out by the Pats in preseason two years ago, I think. I'm glad this happened in preseason, because A. the game doesn't matter, and B. it gives us one game to correct our mistakes in time for the regular season.
I agree, it was a lot like that game versus the Pats two years ago. Brian Mitchell brought up that point in the post game with Mike Sellers, and even Sellers agreed.

The downside to that comparison is that the 2006 team went on to finish 5-11 as teams continued to do what the Patriots did to us all year. As bad as that Patriot shellacking was, this was even worse as we got beat on both lines from jump and didn't show any grasp of Zorn's offense. True, its only the preseason, but with the regular season 12 days away and this being our 4th preseason game it doesn't look good.

Wow....I woke up to check the score, and to see what kind of posts you all have made. I don't know what's worse, having the team play like poop, or listening to most of you talk about how jacked up the team is. Great fans. We've got our problems, but were was everyone with these little comments the past couple of weeks? O-line this, D-line that, Thomas, Kelly and everyone else has sucked, everyone's going down with injuries....how dare they play them....Blah..Blah..Blah.

THIS WAS ONE PRE-SEASON GAME, CALM THE F@CK DOWN!

That'll be all.....good night.

Its was last year when the Pats beat us like that.

2006 Preseason is what we're talking about. They really put the pound to us then as well.

I do not hate the Panthers the way you hate them. But one thing I noticed when I lived there and worked their games is their fans would usually start leaving by the beginning of the third quarter. Kind of a wine and cheese crowd down there. My experience is they are more jealous of the Skins then hating them, because of the people who are still loyal to them, and the history the Redskins have.

This is why we play pre-season games to see what we do well and what we need to work on. While I got upset at the Skins the little voice in the back of my head kept reminding me this is still preseason.

Ugh, here we go again -- comment on how bad the team looked, and your status as a fan comes into question. I guess we should be used to that by now. You haven't heard comments like this in prior weeks because they haven't looked this bad yet.

If you had seen the game, your attitude would probably be different. No it's not the end of the season. But a performance like that so close to the season opener gives legitimate cause for concern. Especially with all the injuries.

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread

I was upset because Comcast blacked out the game for me on my Dish Network service.

I ended up watching a Yankees/Orioles game with my wife.

After seeing the score, I'm glad I couldn't see it. Reading this thread was fun though.

Thankfully Taylor's injury is minor. Osi's gone for the year and I don't see Strahan coming back since he said he's really enjoying his retirement (probably means he's not working out).

It's just preseason. I have no idea how we let a team beat us 47-3, but hey, it IS just preseason. With our extra HOF game, the guys are probably just sick of the scrimmages. Our preseason SHOULD be over now after 4 games, but we have one more.

We should probably bench all starters.

I really hope Frost doesn't make the cut.

Ummm... I dont mean any harm. But watching the game again today. Rocky Mcintosh was not playing well. He was not filling the gaps. He looked slow. I saw three BIG plays..Including the two big runs he could have made a stop or attempt a tackle and couldn't even get there .... one huge catch by Steve Smith & on both big runs by Williams & Stewart.

You know, I watched the game yesterday afternoon and saw the SAME THING! He was directly tied into 21 points! He was either out of position, didn't shed the block or was slow to the point of attack. He played great last year before getting hurt so hopefully he can rebound to nearly that level quickly or it's going to be a long season off on the weakside. We're talking Hwy. 57 all over again.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I hope its just him needing to work himself back into game form. Because he did look good last season. Hopefully he will bounce back to last years form before the Giants game. So I am not counting him out yet. But he didn't look good at all.

I really thought Betts was down, on his back, laying on a Panthers player, when he was speared in the chest. Should've been a penalty on the Panthers.

Nothing wrong with giving the Panthers credit for being a better team than us. If we see them this season, it will be because we are both playoff teams.
